420 DA Thread

Looking for suggestions to mount a TV in the cockpit or anywhere the people in the lounge area can watch. Just changed originals in master and the flip down salon to HD's. Now looking for mounting ideas "outside". Would really appreciate a pic or any response.
Thanks!

My 420 has a TV that flips down from the hard top. I assumed it was a factory installed TV. When I purchased the boat the previous owner gave me an extra TV for that spot. It is not perfect but I may be willing to give it up.

I am going to be at the boat in about 3 hours. I will take a pic. Whats your email?

I have the pictures of the television. I do not know how to put them on a website. I do know how to email or text them if anyone is interested.

Posting for ASH...

I get down to the boat Saturday and someone says "hey, what happened to your anchor"? I said nothing I know about. I have only used boat twice and anchored once, in sand soil. It was not like this the week before. There is no visible indication of anything being hit in the bow section. Weird.

That happened to my stern anchor, was in the water, heavy current, and I tried backing to it after pulling up front anchor, both were in deep water. Had to reverse course, and pulled the anchor in deeper. After retrieval noticed it was bent. I believe when I reversed course, I was pulling on the anchor perpendicular, hence the bend.

Diesels are powerful.

The flaps look pushed in to me... If your stern in in your slip I would think someone ran into you... And it would have been a serious hit to mess it up that bad.

That happened to me in our last marina, caused about 10k in Fiberglas damage to the boat that hit me. Funny he never said he was sorry for hitting my boat ! My anchor didn’t have any damage, with that much damage to your anchor, if some hit you, you may have to look under the water for the boat.

Now that the anchor is off it is a Kodiak with searay Part Number 878512 35LB galvanized Plow. Has anybody replaced theirs with something else you'd care to share and still used the original Lofrans 1000 windlass setup??/

I’d check the hardware up on the bow to make sure nothing got pulled loose. That looks like it was a decent hit. I’ll bet someone is springing for some serious boat bucks to get their fiberglass repaired.

I just upgraded mine. Dock neighbor saw me working on my new stern anchor rhode and I mentioned that now all I need was a stern anchor. Planned on getting a Fortress FX11. Then he told me to follow him. I guess he found one the week before and didn't need it, so he offered it to me. Swapped it out with my bow anchor. Now the stocker is my stern anchor and i have a beast up front. :D not the prettiest thing, but looks don't hold you in a storm.
