420/44 DB Owners Club

How do you carry your tender? I don’t see a lift and am still trying to decide which system to use

I can chip in a little. From what I’ve read and seen you will still be up for near on 20k for the most simplest but reputable of davit systems. I have the GHS Hydraulic Swim Platform and it’s not only a breeze to use it also makes your boat significantly longer.

Drift off, drift on

I see the advantages, I’m not sure I want that much added to the stern. We don’t take the dink everywhere we go.I like the freedom lift but not sold on it just yet. Thanks

Two transom doors would be cool! Need to find a spot for the cablemaster...

Forgive my pathetic attempt at image editing a la PowerPoint!
I was considering at one point putting the transom locker on sliding tracks to slide out on to the swim deck when more cockpit space was required. If I did not have the Cable Master to deal with I probably would have gone further down that road. 24 extra inches would be awesome! I even considered removing the cable master for a minute.

First question, how is the new boat coming? Second question, what is the cable master?
Cable master is Glendinning retractable shore power cable system.
We are Hauling out for survey on the 20th. Thanks for asking.
Owner spent $100,000 on services and appliance updates in last two years so I’m pretty sure all will go smoothly. I’ve been in the boat fir three days doing my own pre survey inspections and systems ops checks.

I just spoke to a shipwright who said it would be expensive but if done properly it would not only look great, it’d also look ex-factory. Thinks I could get close to an extra meter ... We really are loathe to go for a SR 52 as it’s just way too much boat for this cruising couple. And besides, our 44 is just so perfect in every way, except for the smallish cockpit.

I am going to do it.

I’ll keep you posted.

Cant wait to see it, You will be tens of thousands ahead by doing that instead of moving into a different boat!

I’m looking at moving my transom locker aft to increase the area of the cockpit. This may involve modifying my current transom or manufacturing a new one.

I noticed Riviera in particular and some other builders are taking the transom past the hull sides. I also saw a 52 on the weekend with the mod done. Looked great.

Would be interested in your pro’s and con’s .

Here's a craziest cockpit MOD I've seen on 420DB. :eek::D

It certainly makes sense. A shipwright mate is going to look into it for me. I told him it must look factory. Attached is a 52. The extra space is phenomenal and the lines still look great.
You may want to skip the Speedo though. That's more of an Azimut thing!

Gotta agree. I would’ve gotten a closer shot if it weren’t for that..

Does any one have links to the LED bulbs for the cockpit overhang lights? I'm looking for white/blue combo.

I just looked at the 420 docked across from me and I can’t tell through the big frosted lenses what size the bulbs are. But if they are g4 like mine, several multicolor options at Marinebeam
