Can anyone tell me where I can find original C Ray helm chairs for the 420 sedan bridge? I am trying to get a cost comparison of replacing chairs with new or have them reupholstered and I am in a time crunch as I make decisions on buying this boat or not today. Thank you

Recently received a quote to update the two helm chairs in a tri-color format as well as the small vinyl strip at the helm. Cost was $2950. Hope that helps. Should be much cheaper that replacing.

Ok thanks. The upholstery guy here in Morehead City says about $4500 to redo both and he suggested would be cheaper to get factory replacements. So I’m trying to find them and their cost

I’m on the survey/sea trial as I write. The rpm gauges sometimes dance around. What would be a good place to start checking for causes.

Mine do that as well. Pop the dash off and on the back of tach(s) is a slot screw to set the number of teeth on the flywheel. I find that rotating it back and forth several times will settle down the tach (make sure you set it back to the right spot!). I've laser'd the flywheel and verified, at least on mine, that the result is accurate. A 5 min fix. I find it lasts about a season and I have to do it again.

That is not to say there is not something wrong with the tach or a loose connection. The above is where I'd start.

I replaced my inside lighting with 6K......these things are bright! What a difference to the original bulbs.

Thanks Dean.
Alex, would you have the source for these? I have had a hard time finding LED bulbs that fit in the fixture - they can't be any longer that the existing bulbs or they hit the lens cover. I didn't double check this the first time and had to return an order. I did find some on Amazon (Rayhoo) that fit but are the warm white. I would like to replace a few with a cleaner color (4000K).
Thks,
Tom

I used a Vimar momentary switch to match the others with a Hella dimmer module. It really changed the game.
Do you have the Hella dimmer module controlling LED bulbs or are you still using the original halogen? Wasn't clear when I looked at the specs it was for LED bulbs.

I’m still using the original Halogen as I like the softer light but the dimmer will handle LED’s as long as they are dimmable.

On the off chance I need replacement gauges, any idea what those cost?

Also on the 2005 I’m looking at I will need to replace some of the drawer and door push to lock/pop out pull to open round knobs with oval faceplates. Anyone know a good source for those and can the ones that are not staying in when trying to lock be repaired to stay latched?

These are long and it's a very tight fit. You have to push the bulb to make sure it goes inside the reflector all the way in. Every MM counts. Some ended up clearing the lenses, some touch them. I don't see an issue as these are LEDs and don't generate much of the heat.

If you're concerned with the size, you'll have to settle for something smaller with less brightness (3-4K).

Alex I used the disc type g4 led light in my 390 my, just shoved them in and fit fine. Also it puts the light emitting elements all towards the lense. I am planning on using the same on the 44

I got the disc type bulbs first and they turned out to be way too big for the interior fixtures. Maybe there's a smaller size disc type, but 6K one was too large. The only place they were a perfect fit was in the cockpit. It's nice and bright there now, but I'll most likely switch to tri-color, just like I have on the bridge.

Flounderpounder.com has the knobs and latches.

Hey Tom,
I used these and they fit with no issue.
