I would be very interested to hear about this install if you do it. I was thinking the same, but concerned of it being in the way causing people to clip their shoulder walking by it - That head gets a lot of traffic!

I have my concerns but if I were to mount one of the nice thin monitors I should be okay. I have other things planned for PLAN B right now before I bother with a TV upgrade. I am looking to do Cool Teak on the swim platform, cockpit vinyl, some canvas work and then I am seriously looking at installing some real hardwood flooring in the entire cabin area. Talk me out of it please! I brought some sample pieces and laid them down the last 2 weekends. Damn it would look good!

Yeah ah, you came to the wrong place for that kind of help.

You can mount a TV outside the head door. I have a 32" Bravia LED on a Peerless low profile mount. That wall is 3/4 plywood and if you take the hatch out in the shower, you can run your cables back towards the fridge.

I'll take some photos the next time I am at the boat.

Thanks Rick,

I'd like to see your pics. OSD doesn't have a TV in the aft stateroom either....One of the many items on the upgrade list...

Our 'Nevercold' just barely gets the job done, even after an evacuation and recharge. Good thing we operate in relatively cool conditions most of the time...if this were a Florida boat, I'm sure it would have been died and been replaced many seasons ago. Question: How much cabinetry has to come out for the swap?

See enclosed photo

Put two layers of blue tape on the dront of the galley counter where the green line is to keep from scarring up the gold nosing
Take the screws out of the fridge flange.
After you take out the screws in the fridge flange, pull the fridge and set it on the floor. Put down a towel first.
Then you have to remove the screws from the top TV cabinet which is not showing, but, is behind the flat screen (yellow circle)
Then you have to remove screws at approximately the red lines.
Then you can remove the entire cabinet that the fridge was in.
Then you can get your new fridge into the boat and reverse the process.

Be gentle with the fridge cabinet. It does not have gussets or strengthing points and can come apart easily if mishandled.

I tried, with three guys, to get the Vitrifrigo into the cabin and ended up scratching the crap out of the Vitricore/Nuvacor laminate on the side of the fridge cabinet in the companionway. Since I had extra Vitricore/Nuvacor, I just took the entire fridge cabinet home rebuilt it and relaminated it. But, you probably do not have a $500 piece of soverign cherry Vitricore/Nuvacor hanging around in your garage/shed. I strongly suggest removal of the fridge cabinet.

Definitely want to see pics. When you say take the hatch out in shower, do you mean the hatch that opens to the outside? Did you run power cable and antenna cable from above fridge? Where was there room to install an AC receptacle with that type of wall mount?

Sorry for all the questions, but this could be a good project for this season, right after I order a new Latex mattress for the master stateroom! We sleep on boat almost every weekend for 5 months, so want to be comfortable and the original box spring mattress has seen better days.

Yes, the hatch that opens to the outside. There is room in there between the top of the fiberglass shower enclosure and the deck to run some wires.

I have two computers above my fridge, but, yes I ran the cables from there.

If you look closely, you will see that there is a fairly big gap between one portion of the shower enclosure and the outside wall where you can put one of these in:

I also have installed most all of this equipment, plus some other stuff, except it is 2012-2013 model year stuff. Obviously, I stole the ideas from Gary.

Hey guys.

Two questions. Gauges fogged over delivering the boat after wash down. They appear to be calcified inside the gauge bessels. Picture attached. Any ideas on how to seal and correct?

second, Westerbeke 7.6 when battery is powered I get a master alarm on the systems monitoring panel. The genny fires up and then no alarm but it soots soot and carbon out onto the water at fire up. Any ideas?

cant upload the pictures.

I believe the gauges can only be resealed if sent back to the factory. Give it a day in the sun and the fog will disappear.

Doug, thanks but not fogged. Milky white calcification under the glass. It's dry with no condensation. I'll try to get pictures uploaded.

it says file too big to upload. ARRGGHH!!

Not if you sponsor the site! FP Marine also sells replacement gauges for a decent price.

Calcium? My guess is that its salt. Save yourself another step, and replace the gauges - with sealed ones.

Anyone put a hull stripe on a 410? I like the idea of a black hull stripe to match our black canvas. Make it look like a big orca!!! Its on the 'big mod' list, after wood flooring in the salon...

Re: 410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread

Finally installed the Vitrofrigo BUT of course my cherry panels did not fit (they where to small) so I will probly go with the S.S heres a pic of the finish in black. Also had to raise fridge 5/8" to cover top cutout. Nice fridge quite with a light. Not bud light thats out in the cock pit fridge.
