Is there really enough weight from 250 ft of chain to make a difference
In keeping the bow down ? On a 2000 410Da gasser .
how much weight Does the chain add ?
What year 410 has the water tank in the v birth , at 100 gal that would ad 800# ?
Does that help ?
Are you having a hard time with the bow riding high? Are your tabs working correctly? I've got a gasser 400 with the standard 25' +/- of chain rode and my rig rides very nicely. Far more bow-down than my 340 ever ran. It's practically plowing into (and through) the waves with tabs down.
If you're consistently riding bow high (even with tabs) you may want to check your running gear or bottom condition. You shouldn't "need" that 250' of chain to get a nice ride from a 410 IMO.
