410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread**

Re: 410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread

"Concentric". I bought one about a month ago. Talk to mike. They even changed the gear ratio so it moves a lot faster. Price, about four hundred. But this is also a continuous duty ball bearing and has potentiometer wires and adjustable limits. Mike is the man.

Subject: Anchor/Running Light on radar arch.

I have done everything possible to ensure this light works at the start of every season. It has always lasted the entire season until the shrink wrapper unscrews my home made set screw design and lays it down for shrink wrapping. This light has seen better days and it is time for me to dig into my pockets to purchase a new one, including the mount on the arch, because the 3 contacts holes have gotten larger every season and the thread to attach the light to the mount are in bad shape. Does anyone know where I can purchase this anchor/nav light for my 2001 410da?

I'd like to buy one also for my 1997 400DA. What is being sold at most marine supply shops won't work.

Great, I have competition in the Caribbean. Isn't it enough you live in such a beautiful part of the world? Only kidding - welcome to the hunt.

I have a1998 Sundancer with diesels and my port side Fuel tank emptied about 130 gallons of diesel into the bilge. So i am assuming the tank leaked from the bottom and needs to be replaced. Any experience removing the old tank? Does the main have to be pulled?

Re: 410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread

That is a biggee! It's a long tank which extends all the way to the buikhead behind the refrigerator.
No direct experience but I know this would need to be removed:
Batteries and large electrical harness out
Holding tank and forward vacuum generator out
Engine access hatch off
Fuel filters, hoses and deck strut out
Port engine, exhaust and gear out
Fwd bilge pump discharge out

If that area is wet need to determine where the water is coming from and fix before putting back together.

That's what I was afraid of. Thanks for the reply ttmott.

Any chance of installing a bladder tank in the leaking tank?

A few years back, I saw pics of somebody cutting out the side of their boat to replace a fuel tank and a good glass shop made the repairs to make it look like it never happened. It must have been faster and more cost effective to go this route.

The original vendor was Spartech Marine Products. Spartech closed their marine division in 2009, but Teak Isle bought some of their molds, fixtures, etc. You might try them.
Perfect....Boat Outfitters is there store front and part number for White T-Slot Foam Filled Bulb Seal (cabin door seals)
Item #: 076-3160 12' does the whole door and make it look new!

Thanks again Frank....BTW, they have the door tracks and trolleys for the 400 and 450DA too. Worth a look!

Found a boat we are probably putting a deposit on tomorrow. It is a 2000 410 Express with the 3126 CATs in it. Boat is in beautiful shape. Engine compartment so clean you can eat in there. Anything I should be looking for in particular? Anyone have performance numbers? Thanks.

I can't compare number since the Express has straight drives and different balance up on plane. It is a great boat, my friend has one with Cummins. Keep us posted and good luck!

Guys, my salon air conditioner is acting up a bit. It seems that the cabin temperature is way off and that is causing the unit to either run too much or not at all. For instance, when in "Cool" mode, it may run constantly because the SMX display unit is showing "58 degrees" when it is really close to 70 (or more) in the cabin. It seems like I either have an issue with the electronic controller or the thermostat. I'm willing to replace either or both, but I'm not sure where the thermostat is on the unit. Any ideas? Also, if anyone has replaced the electronic controller, where do you recommend I look for one? Thanks!

Give the folks at Flight Systems a call.

Shoot, I have the same problem..

Unit thinks its 35 degrees in the room.
Guessing it's the TSE sensor because, it won't run unless I unplug it at the control box.
Without the TSE plugged in, unit seems to run constantly ... which isn't good.

I plan on swapping it with the forward stateroom's TSE and see if that fixes it..

Wont have time for at least a week though so, I'll watch this thread.

Ordered a new SMXII control unit from Flight Systems... Thanks for the recommendation. Hopefully this solves the problem.

I am going to go with Temperature Sender.

I was going to ask the same question.

PS The sink looks great. I keep forgetting to take a picture.

Glad to hear it... Both that the sink looks great and that I'm not the only one to not know what a TSE is!
