410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread**

Thanks guys. I put down an aluminum L like you would use at the edge of ceramic tile on the floor to frame the hatch openings and leave that narrow aluminum edge. Most is technically floating, but tight to the hatch edging. I glued to the hatches as well as the raised portion outside the aft head.

I like your color choice Strecker25. Looks like a completely different boat. I only did the edging to the floor. I'm hoping it doesn't get chipped on the hatch edges taking them out. We call the gallery compartment the "cellar" to store extra beer/pop.

haha us too, it’s the “basement” in our boat.

What brand/size edging did you guys use? Also what thickness of plank did you go with?

mine is Schluter vinpro-S and the floor is 6.5mm. I had to hammer it on the edge since its designed for 6mm floor but it helps keep everything together, especially on the hatches. Cutting the miters was a PIA though

The edging I used was Custom Building Products also from HD. It is 5/16" or 7.9mm and flooring 6.5mm. I'm not sure how necessary it was for the 1.4mm difference, but I ran an end-mill router on the floor where it sat to drop it down the small amount. I can also confirm that cutting the miters was zero fun.

Has anyone installed (or thought about) hinges on the hatches? They have 130degree hinges, so it would open and hold the hatches slightly out of the way.

that would be cool. I briefly considered something similar but given how many hours I have in it already I’ll take the easy way out for now lol

Long weekend, Monday off, kids in school, SNOWING - looks like I get to spend two days this weekend toiling away on the boat. Heading back today to what I hope is one of my final two visits polishing the beast this year.

I got started on the foredeck on Saturday. I give my results a B- so far. The non skid is tough and thirsty for product. It definitely looks better but it's not going as well as the non-skid around the walkways (which is less aggressive).

At least I have some beers left over from my road trip home from Florida :)

great beer. My experience is the same and I'm just going to plug away at it all summer (the non-skid). We go in the water tomorrow so I'm just going to finish the arch and sides under the windows today and deal with the rest later.

Tomorrow should kick off our 2022 season as long as this last blast of winter doesn’t put a damper on it (snowing outside right now). I made sure my little buddy put the drain plug in so I can’t be blamed if it leaks.:)

really looking forward to getting the year started.
