40 sedan bridge forum

As I recall, the button that controls the sofa bed motor engages it and the motor should fold the sofa in to a flat bed position. If it doesn't I would assume that due to the lack of usage either the motor is getting stuck or there's some obstruction preventing the expansion of the bed frame.

The bottom line is that when all is working as expected, the sofa should unfold in to a bed with a click of a button.

How were you able to remove the TV cabinet, is there a trick? I can't seem to find an obvious way to unbolt it. Do you gave a pic of what it looks like removed?

I have to admit that the work was actually done by a local AV guy. I cannot seem to get the picture to attach...

Hi everyone, who sells bridge enclosures for the 400 sedan bridge? I could hardly see
thru mine now. It has a lot of scratches on the clear panels. Is there a way to clean them and make them clear again? Thanks in advance.

Why is there only 1 floor drain in the master head? Unlike the guest head which as 2? How do you clean the floor with out the drain?

I noted that as well and rationalized that the water will head aft, especially underway. So the guest head would need a drain I the head area as well as the shower area, unless the design was to have the shower drain through the head floor....

I am still poking around at buying a 400DB. The current one I am looking at is a 2001. It has 9 total speakers. 2 in the stateroom, 2 in the salon, 2 on the cockpit and 2 on the helm. Plus a subwoofer on the helm. Also has a many position speaker selector switch next to the XMD1 head unit. Owner also has connected an MP3 plug through the CD changer interface.

First question(s): How many amps are there from the factory, what size(s), what do they drive and where are they located? I am hoping there are two - one for the four outdoor speakers and a second for the subwoofer (that's how my 300DA was configured).

Second question: Is the CD changer now rendered useless since the MP3 interface is now wired through it?

Thanks.

Guess I'll now try asking the Sea Ray website. I'll post back if they give me an answer.

Sorry, I don't know much about my sound system, other than it works because the surveyor turned it on during the survey, and it sounded pretty good, and the amp (1) is located port side between the power sofa and the rear wall, next to the entrance door to the cabin. Hang in there, I'm sure the other guys will chime in when they see the thread.
Good luck in your search.

Thanks Mark. Looks like I'll get to try to figure this out if I end up with the boat. There must be 4-6 speaker selector settings on the switch knob (won't be back on the boat until Thursday to recheck). Will try to figure out which speakers are doing what at each selection and if the switch is before or after the amp.

Do any of you have a PDF of the owners manual for the 2001 400DB? The Sea Ray site only has supplement pages posted for this year. I have to go to the 2004 420DB to find the full manual in PDF on the Sea Ray site. I am trying to get as smart as I can before Thursday's trial run. I guess I could read the 420DB manual as a last resort.

Update: I discovered that there is a "1997-2004 Sport Yacht" General Manual that the Supplement applies to. Found that general manual included in the 2001 280 Sundancer list of manuals.

Does anyone know where this reinforced clear hose drains from? It is located in the ER, port side, comes from above the fuel tank, running back and then down between the fuel tank and the holding tank. That is the port muffler in the right foreground, fuel tank behind that, and holding tank in the left background. I didn't get a chance to try to find it's source before lay up. When there is quite a bit of rain, it will make a little water, but it needs to be a hard steady rain, otherwise nothing. Thanks

I would bet it is the drain hose for your rod holders.....

Thanks for the reply, but I am not sure about that, hose disappears as it is going forward above the fuel tank, rod holders are quite a bit behind all this ??
