If you can’t find 1141, use an 1156. They have the same base: BA15s. Whatever you get, make sure the power (of the LED bulb) is the same or less than your incandescent bulbs, otherwise you risk melting the covers. With LED’s this shouldn’t be a problem. Also, I’d recommend a bright or cool white Down there for better illumination than the warm white of the incandescent bulbs.

The number 1 pump may be air bound, have you run the tank empty lately? Or, mine has a filter prior to the pump, it could be plugged.
I replaced both of my pumps from Fresh Water System, 2088-443-144 / part number.

Thank you!

I changed all my cabin lights on my 2001 to LED but I still have two that I want to change. Do you guys know the size of the lights for the bilge and closet?

Do you guys know what each fresh water pump handles? My fresh water pump 1 runs and runs for hours. My fresh water pump 2 seems to handle everything and runs normal. Do I have a bad pump?

Have any of you changed the waste tank senor or changed out the tank? My tank goes to 1/2 tank pretty quick and then when I pump out, it seems like I was not close to 1/2 tank full.

How often do you change the oil on the generator? How often do you change the belt or impeller?

I replaced my engine room lights with self adhesive LED strips stuck to various places around the engine room. I removed the old bulb fixtures entirely, and used those points to wire in the strips. Been very very happy with this upgrade. Very nice bright light to work in and no shadows. I change my generator oil once a year regardless of use, and it's impeller every 2 years. Belts should last a long time. I just replaced my 20 year old originals just 2 years ago, and kept them as spares.

anyone know the Bomar part number for the port light's? SR part # 1453992? I just want to make sure I order the correct one. I had it on order but they were back ordered and never shipped and canceled the order on me and The records I have is just the overton's part number. (they also raise the price by $100 while it is still out of stock) the wld gave way and I can either pull it have it welded and electropoished or replace it and have one for backup...

This might save you a few $. It may be cheaper elsewhere. I just went to the site and pulled it up without searching price. This is the one that I replaced the "fixed" portlight in the master stateroom with. The fixed portlight is no longer available from Bomar.

Can't beat that!!!

Thanks for all the info. Fantastic idea on the lights!!

Nope - just make sure to reconnect the wiring correctly. One of the solid brown wires is the wire to the systems monitor module and it needs to connect between the float and pump. The other solid brown wire goes to the helm switch and also connects with the systems monitor brown wire between the float and pump. The brown and white wire is the +12V always hot that connects to the float wire not connected to the pump.

It was the forward bulge pump itself. The Rule 1500.

Swapped it with a new one and the thing is working again. The float seems fine. I bought a float and pump. I’ll keep the float as a spare. I KNEW that “Forward Bilge Alarm” warning meant something! And what it means is, I have a water leak somewhere. Rear SB side. Back near the exhaust or the fresh water tank. It’s a small one and I will investigate further. Needless to say, I’m glad to have the bilge pump working!

Has anyone replaced their radar radome? If so, how long was your data cable, coming down the arch, up the side of the bridge, into the helm and over to the left of the helm where the displays are mounted? Raymarine offers a 10m and 15m option. I measured and it looks like 9m would be enough, but I thought I’d check with the collective 400DB brain trust. Thx!

I did. I replaced the Raymarine with the Furuno 1815 standalone radar unit. Pretty sure I ordered it with the 10m cable. I still have a few loops extra sitting on the floor at the unit.

Any tips or experience on replacing the starboard Raw water impeller on 400 DB with Cummins?

Thank You
It’s easiest with their impeller puller tool here. To put in the new impeller some zip tie the blades to a smaller diameter than the pump housing, then cut off the zip tie once it’s part way in. I’ve always been able to insert it just by compressing the blades together with my hand.

Man, I'm so tired of cleaning the shower sump. I need to run my galley drain overboard but has anyone found any way of alleviating so much of the gunk build up in the shower sump?

I too saw a few people run their galley sink directly overboard. I placed a small screen in mine and it’s nasty to empty but cuts down on the food crap that gets green in my sump box.

I clean my shower sump once every 6 months. In between, I run a little NoFlex through it, and it stays fairly clean.

This will be a winter project for me. For those that did this, did you put a trap inline or loop the hose?

FYI. There’s a real good discussion on this topic in the 480 owners’ thread, too, as several owners over there did this mod as well.

I started the season using noflex digestor, but ultimately moved to a clorox toilet tablet based on some suggestions on CSR. I find the sump is significantly cleaner with the tablets than noflex.
