370 Venture

MM had incredible deals in '10 on brand new '08 470DBs. They had 10 of them that had not sold. $1.2 Mil MSRP. In '10 they got Sea Ray incentives and finally moved them - I was given a quote for $440K for one. One of my dock mates bought one...

The concept is great, however, not new. The mid cabin is beautiful. The price is absurd. The prop size will kill it. The specs in boating magazine state coming off cruise 500 RPM doubles+ the fuel consumption. So basically you are at hull speed or at cruise.

All it needs is a Honda gennie option to complete the package!w

they are different boats but I would say that you can have a lot of people in the cockpit of that 370 Venture. Probably not 14 like the 280 Sundeck but 9 would all have a seat. The cabin is so large they would all fit there as well.
Yes, you're right you probably could fit about 9 people in the cockpit. You would look kind of silly going tubing, skiing, or wakeboarding with the Venture, though:grin:

That is true. We would not have that ability (but that is what friends are for). We are happy with our 280 Sundeck but different boats always get us thinking.

Wait a minute.........concept is not new? What did I miss? A twin outboard powered 37 ft Sundancer with completely enclosed supercharged 300 hp motors with room to tilt the lower units completely out if the water seems like a pretty novel concept to me. The fact that you can have a conversation using a normal speaking voice at cruise speeds while sitting on top of the engines is a bonus.

We had 12 full grown adults in the cockpit of the first 370 Venture at Homecoming in Knoxville......it was crowded but everyone was seated. That was the PD&E boat and needed to be re-propped according to the Sea ray ebgieer that was on the boat with us. The funky fuel burn numbers were most likely a product of the prop mis-match since that same boat was used in early testing.

Mine retailed for around $765. We added the swim platform, the HDTV receiver and tvs/HD DVRs, Lumishore underwater lights, and cockpit A/C. We also paid to ship it from Chicago to Fl. Our deal was similar to those listed above, but not quite as deep of cuts (not quite as over-priced to begin with).

Thanks for the PM. It gives us something to think about. We also watch the inventory and keep an eye on the demo boats. We might get more boat for the money.

My wife of course is talking about being able to ship the boat to Fl for the Bahamas trip one year.

I know this thread is almost dead, but, I saw the 370 Venture in person yesterday for the first time. For the asking price, not impressed :smt009

I haven't been impressed either but haven't seen one live. What don't you care for?

The cabin is entirely too small, imho. I do like the cockpit area. Even if I could by a used one, compared to what I already have, I'd still go with the 340. There's no room to do maintenance on the gennie and God forbid you have to change out a battery or two. They are stuffed in the port aft corner. The wood flooring looks ok but the hidden compartments don't have any thing protecting the edges of the wood so I think they're gonna get beat up and scratched up. The price tag was like $363K :wow:

I'm still loving the 340 too. It's such a nice, nice boat. Over the next 7 weeks I get 14 days altogether with it. For me that's a high density of boat time. Time to make some routine things routine.
