36 Sedan Bridge Owners

Here are a couple pictures of the canvas hatch cover. It has a double zipper so it's easy to unzip/zip going in either direction.

Does anyone have a good source for OEM parts? I need to replace my fuel tank floats & my tank sensor module, the price I got from the local sea ray dealer was over 1k for all three...

Hello Craigwat- What type of tank sensor are you looking for? I have a list of various Eplex modules that im looking to get rid of for half the price the dealers are selling for.

Sea Ray was nice enough to replace the module as a good faith gesture! It was the holding tankd & fresh water tank module that provided the signal to the tank gauges.

Still looking for the fuel tank float if anyone has any reccomendations?

Thanks,
Craig

Has anyone tried to intall TrackVision satellite TV in a 36 Sedan Bridge. I was looking at the Hard top and can't really find a good spot to mount the dome. I have a Raymarine open array radar that was installed by Sea Ray. Any help, or pictures, would be great.

All,

I have some left over parts from my 2007 36 that I am looking to give away, just need to pay shipping.

Bedding for master state room, includes:2 pillow shams, 3 throw pillows and 1 comforter
All have been professionally cleaned.

Sheets for the guest room, 2 fitted sheets, 2 flat sheets and 2 pillow cases, all off white
One of the fitted sheets has a rust like stain.

Window Treatments
1 curtain for sliding glass door, 2 shades for dinette area and 4 drapes for master stateroom
All new, never used or put in the boat. Color – Camel

Would rather give to a good home than throw in garbage.

Hey Kevin,
I would be interested in taking those things off your hand. I tried to send you a message but your mailbox was full! If you still have them, let me know and I can work out details with you.

Hi Guys,

Any idea where the Mercathode system is on this boat? My diver reported some electrolysis on my props and rudder, so I need to check out the system to see what's going on. I can't seem to find it, and don't really know what I'm looking for. Note: The last time the diver changed my plate zinc, it looked like they left one of the sleeves on the bolt, so it wasn't sitting straight. I don't know if it was getting a good connection. That might have been the problem - not sure.

Thanks,

Kevin

Not sure if you have a "Mercathode" system per se. That is more for boats with outdrives and has something to do with producing a small charge to counteract the galvanic charges that exist in the water, charges which tend to eat away quickly at aluminum drives.

Your boat has a "bonding" system, where everything is essentially grounded to a stip in the bilge somewhere, which is ultimately tied in to that big zinc plate on your transom. What is typically the "remedy" for excessive electrolysys is to check all the bonding wires (green ones) for corrosion or loose connections or maybe some that were accidentally kicked off. This is usually more of a problem in older boats. It could also be that the dumb-a$$ in the slip next to you is throwing a lot of stray current into the water, or there are some wires dangling from the docks into the water.

Read this - pretty good explanation and not too long...

Thanks for the link. I see what you mean about the bonding system. All connections that I could see look tight. I don't see where the shaft and prop are connected to the system, unless it is through the engine. That must be the case. Am I on the right page there?

Kevin

Not really sure. I have old fashioned stuffing boxes so the green wire is attached to the packing nut on the stuffing box. You can see the wire here. You've got dripless so it's going to look nothing like this...

Update:

Thanks for the tips. They installed another plate zinc (properly). A month later, I happened to be there when the diver was, and had him check again for electrolysis. Nothing. Clean. I think the problem was the poorly seated zinc.

Thanks again...

Kevin

Zoom in on my picture. I think it's what you're looking for...http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4140278/NSN.JPG

So where did all the 36 Sedan Bridge owners go? No activity on this thread for 6 years? Surely there are still owners out there, right? Do any of you boat in open waters? After reading all 20 pages of this thread it looks like just about everyone except perhaps 2 of you were lake or river boaters. Who has taken theirs off shore - into the Atlantic, to the Bahamas, the Keys, the Cape? I’m looking to possibly step up to a sedan and the 36 seems like a nice option. But are there any owners left?

Sorry I can’t answer your question on open water but I still have a 36db. Boat running great having a good time with it. Looking at stepping up to a 45 sedan bridge
