36 Sedan Bridge Owners

For any of the 360-390 DB owners out there. If you know, would you mind sharing your prop specs. We have a 390 DB with Horizon 8.1s and due to our performance (or lack there of) trying to figure out what others are running...?? THX!!

What engines do you have GAS Diesel??RPMS at what knots? What do you feel you are lacking acceleration, top end???

Sorry just saw the engines lol

Lots of things contribute to performance...this is where I’m at.
2007 Sea Ray 360 8.1S
3500rpms 16-17 knots 46-47gph
3900rpms 20-21 knots 54-56gph
4200rpms 24-25 knots 60-62gph
I never really take her over 3,900rpms. Engine temp normally 170-178

Thx 45,

We "seem" to lack top end speed, the engines don't seem to like being much over 3000 rpm for very long...with extended (as opposed to a short burst)use we will see the rpm come back a couple 100 rpm every once in awhile for 30 sec/min or so then come back up to the previously set rpm ...almost like an engine protection sets in. Seems to occur at RPMS > 2600. But we had a diagnostic run during the trip and there were no faults, plus all instruments show normal readings with both port and starboard reading the same between the 2.

During our boat move (after the purchase) we primarily operated at about 2400-2500 RPM due to this . We probably got 9 kts on avg at this setting at about 20 gph..heck if we backed off to 1800 rpm we only lost a couple of knots but dropped to 6-7 GPH. It really struggled if we tried to run over 10 kts.

The bottom is freshly clean and painted and we have newer Hy Torq brand 22x23 L- cup props. The Captain assisting with the move speculated it could be the prop's pitch etc...the props themselves are in great shape..and appear to be the same specs as the original props ordered with the boat when looking at the boats mx history..

We are just hoping we didn't buy a 10 kt boat :)

Thx

When were your fuel filters last changed? When I bought my boat upon survey we could not get it to go over 3,300 rpms and it would drop 100-200 and bounce around. I used that to my advantage and the previous owner did not want to look into it. His loss save me tons of $$$ and some new pre fuel filters and main fuel filter along with upgrade spark plugs...boom 4,200 rpms. Just a thought

yep , tried that as well :( swapped them out before the trip and again midway..but i will listen to any and all suggestions!!!

was their a sea trial before you bought it? how did it perform then? survey? compression test? have you checked the fuel pressure, as it could be a CF III problem too....

There was a sea trial with the survey....(that unfortunately is a whole different issue....Survey was crap, gave us a very clean survey but we found a host of issues once underway).. the survey #'s are slightly lower than what 45 posted above....have not checked the fuel pressure to the best of my knowledge..engines are very low time...had 115 hrs on them...now we are up to 230 hrs with the move , so we doubled the use the previous owners had in 7 years!!

pardon my ignorance, but what is CF III??

Thanks again for all of the responses!!! much appreciated

New to the thread, but have enjoyed reading it from the beginning. For anyone interested, we installed a set of Kato davits to the stern of our 36DB (www.katomarine.com). See picture. Company is in Annapolis and was a pleasure to work with. We have a small Brig F330 tender with a 20HP Honda. It works well for us. We like facing forward and not sitting on the tube to steer. The davits work great. We've had no problems for 2+ years.

Welcome aboard. That's some serious hardware!

Cool fuel Module. They painted the inside of the covers. The paint peals of and clogs the the fuel pressure regulator. Check the fual pressure. Remove the fuel pressure regulator and I’m sure you will find them clogged with paint. Been there.

Hi everyone, I'm interested in an 07 360 sedan that's currently on Lake Lanier, it's a non-hardtop that Atlanta Marine has for sale. Does anyone have any info or maybe some knowledge of this boats history by chance? It currently has 260 hrs on it. Thanks in advance

Hi everyone. I have been looking into sedan bridges for a couple of years. Currently in a sundancer and we want more of an open boat layout. I have been on the 42db and the 44db, but never on the 360 or 390db. Recently I have found a 390 and 360 with diesels for sale and I’m very interested but the boats are 1,000 miles from me. The 390 seems to meet my criteria
-diesel
-draft under 3’6” (the river we live on this is about the max draft I want so we don’t have low tide issues)
-bow thruster
My question is what do you all think about the boat, how much room is in the saloon, what’s the headroom? The 42 and 44 felt like vaulted ceilings. I’m curious because I’m 6’7”
If any of you are in Maryland and would be so kind as to show off your boat to me I would owe you a beer or 10!
Thanks, I look forward to hearing your thoughts

You didn’t mention a budget, and the 36’s and 420/44’s are drastically different in price. While you’re looking, also look at the 400’s. And also the 480’s.

Under $200k. The 400 is older than we want to go as we anticipate this being a more long term boat for us, but as many as we have gone through I’m sure that will change. The 42/44 has a draft of another 4” and a price tag increase too as you said. The only reason I was even on them is I saw them at the brokerage show in Annapolis last year.

What bow anchors is everyone using on 360 dancers, 36 Sedan bridge, 39 sedan bridge boats, previous owner has wrong anchor up front and is hitting the fiberglass below the bumper rail. Thanks!! Lance

Any 36 DB owner have the factory underwater lights installed thru transom (white and kind of small) Found one burned out on survey and wanted to know the make and even hole diameter in case I can't just replace bulb and have to go with another non-factory brand, much appreciated
