36 Sedan Bridge Owners

Diesel owners !! What's your fuel burn when cruising and cruise speed? My '07 Gasser @ 3600 rpm is burning 38-40 gph and doing 18-19 knots. New boat to me this year.

Ours sucks at least this bad. We spend a lot of time at 'hull speed'.

Hi All,

Are there any common reasons why the windlass would die?

It stopped this afternoon while retrieving the anchor (the last 25 or so feet by hand was fun). The main anchor switch in the bridge was still on and it would not respond using the up/down switch in the bridge or the foot pedals. I did hear a "click" inside the rode compartment each time I hit the up/down switch in the bridge.

Thanks much.
Pat

I would check the fuse or breaker, I am guessing the relay is on a different fuse than the windlass

Re: Great Documentation from Sea Ray

Thanks for that ....very helpful info.
Do you know if the modules are still available anywhere(just in case).?

I have some old parts, just not sure if they work or not. MM replaced a lot of parts to fix mine after the lightning strike at the marina. MarineMax is a good place to start for sourcing, just not cheap.

Another option is to check with the manufacture directly. E-Plex has changed hands a few times but it looks like the current company is developing new stuff and supporting it. Check out the new iPad application and module - -http://www.e-plex.co/index.php I would definitely get this if I still had my 36.

Good stuff. About third the burn. Holy $%&$ !!. Time to trade'r for diesels. Thanks for the info.

Does anyone know if the Raymarine E120 equipped boats included the fishfinder? If not, does anyone have thier E120 wired up to get a depth reading from the smartcraft or some other source?

Also, are the GALS per engine or combined?

RPM GALS Knots

1600 6.50 08.5
1800 8.00 10.0
2000 9.50 11.0

Thanks,

Wow, many of us would kill for those numbers. I sucked down 60 GPH this weekend at WOT. Just filled the tanks, and was feeling 'gas rich'...

I don't have the fishfinder either, but the depth is only wired to the Smartcraft (I think). I've never looked for it on the E120, but now I'm curious. I just can check again until Mid October.

Take a look at page 26 of the parts manual, it gives a diagram for the hatch option. You can find the manual on my website at http://www.themcgowans.org/files

Great information on the parts list for the hatch door. Has anyone ever priced it out? Actually, I'll see what I can get out of MM.

60 GPH at WOT (26-27Kts) seems about par for the gas engines... For the hatch cover, I just had a canvas piece made that works similar, cost about $150 & allows me to keep the handrail. I'll upload a pic this weekend. For gas boats it makes a big difference on fumes in the bridge if you're cruising with the canvas closed.

Oh, that's a great idea! Hadn't thought about that option. I can see the benefit with the gas fumes, but it might serve another purpose as well. It won't keep me from falling through, but the kids are only about 30 #'s. Would love to see a picture. Thanks!

Great idea and alternative Craig.....Are you concerned that someone might think it is a false floor and step on it? Just currious........Great idea though for many other reasons too!
