340 SUNDANCER THREAD

thats good news merc making a wear plate. Harden marine is the way to go if you have to buy a pump currently. I got lucky and mine looked new, even the bolts on pump had all the paint. I can only assume they where replaced last time they where done with no groves, no paint missing.

I did not remove any exhaust or hoses. Just the belt, 3 bolts on front, and 2 hose clamps...

I heard the Harden pumps were good but pricey. I picked up the entire pump for 320.00 New which was a very good price plus i had some "points" to burn. I think regular price was 550 of sorts and the new ones I was told with the wear plate are going to be around 650. I couldnt imagine taking those pumps off without the exhaust out of the way. I did have everything out as I replaced all my manifolds and oil coolers. Lots of Advil kind of weekend LOL

friend of mine does not use his boat much, bought it 3 yrs ago and came from north-fresh water, now in FL, and is offering to me. A 2007 SD 340 with Horizons 8.1 ~600hrs for 95k, what do you guys think about it?

of course need survey etc, no broker involved.

Price is good but there is more to a boat than price. Is it a standard SDA or it it a 'Sportsman Edition". How is the canvas, vinyl, engine, generator, running gear, bottom paint, electronics, etc. Any of which could add thousands of dollars to your net price. In 2007 I do not think they were using aluminum manifolds anymore but they were common in fresh water and need to be replaced in salt. Also some fresh water system had grey and black water containment. Meaning more frequent pump outs since some things that would normally get pumped overboard were pumped into the hold tanks (ie: sink water).

I you get get a ride on it and it performs well then have it surveyed (boat and engines) and that will tell you the overall condition and what your expected post purchase expenses might be.

BTW, its a great boat and similar to my 2004.

I would believe that is a very good price for an 07'. Again, a survey will tell how good. An 07 would definitely be due or overdue for exhaust, all coolers and other items. They could easily set you back some big $.

New top speed! coming from the performance world this makes me laugh. But

41.8mph gps haha 1/4 tanks of fuel, full on water, 5 people on board.

Also has anyone else fixed the issue that the ice bucket behind the drivers seat, drains into the bildge instead of over board?

We put an ice bucket inside the built in ice bucket... no drain problem...

Funny I set one in there yesterday to see if this would fit. but sure would be nicer to just fix the issue in the first place, maybe tie into the rear engine hatch drain or something.. need to find the hose coming from the bucket into the bilge.

we put a silk plant in ours.....the Admiral likes to decorate with pillows and plants, etc.....using it as a cooler just isn't practical for us....besides I have a large slide out cooler under the cockpit sink so no need for this small cooler....it would be good for chilling a bottle of wine though........

it is a white hose about 1" in diameter that should enter the engine room just in front of the starboard engine.....I saw it when I was running wires for my stereo upgrade....if you remove the storage bin beside the captain's seat you can see and access the hose.....you can also access the hose by removing the round inspection plate under the captain's seat....

SO far I have no need for a cooler. with 2 fridges, I am good to go on cold things drinks and food. But using it for a ice bucket to make rum drinks works great, hold one bag perfect.. just hate it going to my dry bildge...

thanks for the info on where it is and going... will look into extending and connecting to something else.

I think it would be pretty easy to install a thru-hull drain in the starboard hull near the front of the starboard engine to connect the cooler drain line to....

I dont think I will be doing a new through hull, But extending the line and T-ing into the engine hatch drain, or something is my idea. keep the line high and slopping down and to the back and it should drain right out the back through one of the existing ports under the swim-platform.

We just purchased two 10' kayaks. Does anyone know of an effective storage solution/system for storing on the bow area? We have a dinghy on the swim platform so cannot store kayaks there.

what about using a large elastic cargo net like used in the bed of pick-up trucks?......you could secure the net to the docking cleats on the boat......this one may not be the right size but it gives you the idea of what I am talking about....

use for a replacement ?? Mine keeps dripping and the manufacturer
said the ceramics can not be change . And of course this faucet is
discontinued ,I thought all faucets cartridges can be removed ???

I'm in the process of swapping my sink and faucet to stainless. I think just about any "cold only" faucet from Amazon or your local store should work. Depending on what you get there may need to be some fitting conversion.
