I'm looking for someone who has removed the galley analog TV, built a SR factory style storage cabinet where the TV used to be....and wants to talk about it. Or anyone, like me, who wants to convert cabinet to usable storage.

If not...any idea where to find the cherry wood venier & hardware to match the factory interior?

Did (do) you have the 13" TV/DVD combo in a cabinet? If you do, I pulled the TV out (it was above the refridgerator/freezer) and put a 22" LCD HD TV attached to a swing arm in its place (and used the TV as the door to the admiral's new storage space). I needed to add a interior back board to the cabinet since it was a straight drop behind the fridge. Pix may give you ideas as you design is a little different. Good luck - Jeff

I too am looking to replace the analog TV/VCR combo but mine is located forward of the galley sink at the foot of the forward berth. I am going to mount a 26" LCD/DVD combo on the flat vinyl panel to the sb side of the stairs by the control/switch cabinet.

I would then like to retro fit a coffee maker into the old TV/VCR spot but I have no clue how to go about doing that.

I'd love some thoughts on this major task??!!

OK... I'll be the bad guy.

If you travel in any kind of rough seas, you will hate any kind of articulating mount.

Unless you put in something to hold the TV back against the opening.

To jpk33...the late '03 340s have a different floor plan. The 13" factory TV is mounted above the sink & at the foot of the V-berth. I've already mounted a Sony 32" HDTV to the bulkhead (without drilling into anything important under the helm...wasn't easy) & wired it to a HD Sat receiver & DVD player mounted on custom upper shelf extension above the couch. I'm looking for someone who has removed the old TV & gutted the wasted cabinet space behind. What I really want is some fine craftsman to make me a new door & supply the hardware so it looks factory.

With all the 340s produced I believe there's a market for a retro kit.

This is what I did after removing the factory TV/VCR.

That is the way to set up that space. Because even if you buy a new door. The grain will not match.

My '01 340 came with a flat screen... The previous owner attached it to the existing articulating mount with "L" brackets... He put a DVD player behind the TV attached with Velcro... Also there is a Direct TV box in now in the back the cabinet... Seem to work well so far...
