300 Sundancer questions.

I would like to remove the starboard cushion liner to get better access. It seems like it’s held in with Christmas tree plugs and just pulls off. But the section where the windshield meets the arch won’t pop off and I’m afraid to force it. Does anyone know how that is attached ?
There are only two Christmas trees and they are in the aft end and you have them out. From where you are stuck forward are four bolts/nuts spread out to the very front of the panel. Check my post #1862 a few posts back.

So Bill how would you get those out on the stbd side? Reach down from the speaker opening?

I don’t know. I didn’t take out that side when I owned the boat. My picture shows the location of the bolts assuming the starboard panel has them in the same place. From that I guess get creative.

on my port panel the very front bolt did not have a nut on it. If it had I am not sure how I would have removed it. I guess I would have tried through the front speaker opening near the floor.

I could not find a way to access the bolts on the stbd panel. In any event, I surrender! It has beaten me. I will drill a hole thru the deck floor behind the seat (will not be visible anyway) and use grommets and sealant. Secure and run the up wire thru the deck, alongside the stbd seat, and feed it back behind the plastic wall bin up into the dash where I can. I hope to report the depth of the water in the next week or so.

That’s a clever approach.

The port panel removal had the advantage of the fridge opening as access. Maybe there is an access panel where the seats would be blocking it.

Question ,
My wife and I had anchored out a few nights in coves and put the nav lights all on including the white light at the top of the arch and the stern white light. Last night at the fireworks we arrive and anchor in place. Dusk comes and I hit the nav button for the lights. Tried all buttons it seems but to know avail. The light on the arch pole didnt come on and nor did the rear transome light. The bow lights did come on as well as my other lights cockpit and arch interior lights. Odd that they both would not work at the same time ? Bulbs out ?
Needing help wirh this please. Am I missing something?

Start with the stern bulb since it’s easiest to get to. Also turn on the Anchor lights and see if both the front and the back bulb on the anchor light mast lights up.

You may know this but the USCG requirement for overnight anchoring is a white 360 degree illumination above the boat. That’s it. I recommend you Use your Anchor switch when you anchor, not your Nav switch. Someone may think you are moving when they see your nav lights on at night.

Where exactly is the amp for the cockpit speakers? I was looking for the aux out wires on the XMD3. I couldn't get the radio to move forward more than an inch, so I took out the DC panel and noticed that there is a strap connecting the radio to the plywood behind the switch panels. I found the aux out wires no problem, and I always heard that the amp is back there but I couldn't find it anywhere. My cockpit speakers only work when the amp breaker is on.

Mine was under the v berth mattress. I had the factory premium sound system so there was also a subwoofer and an amp for it. That amp was behind the XMD3.

Last night I turned on the anchor light button and it worked but the stern light didnt light up. When I pressed the button for the Nav lights the achor light on the arch went out. As long as I didnt have the Nav l8ghts on the anchor light stays on. The stern light wasnt coming on at all though. Short somewhere? Weird.

Not sure I completely understand so to make sure we are on the same page:

There are two bulbs on your mast light. A front bulb and a rear bulb. When you turn on anchor lights, both those bulbs light up giving 360 degree illumination. No other bulbs light up, including the stern light not lighting up. When you turn on the Nav lights the following four bulbs light up: the red, the green, the forward mast light bulb, and the stern light.

When I turn on the Nav lights the only lights lit are the red and green lights on the bow. The stearn light is not lighting up and nor is the mast light.
If I turn on the anchor light button the mast light is lit but the stern light is still not coming on. When I try and turn the Nav button on after I have just the anchor button on where the mast light is on then the mast light goes out.

I'm going to bet your boat has "button" pads on the helm and an EIM control box?
I think you have EIM issues.

Got it. Do both mast lights light up when you turn on anchor, or just the rear facing bulb on the mast light. If both light up then might indeed be EIM related. If just the rear facing bulb lights up then appears to be both the forward mast bulb and the stern light bulb are burned out. Easiest thing to try first is whether the stern light bulb is burned out. Try replacing it or testing the bulb in another fixture.

Thanks.
Will do.
Appreciate the direction.

That's funny, I have the the "premium sound system" as well, but I only have a clarion 480 (4ch) ampl under the v berth stbd side for the cockpit and sub. Mine is an early built in 2001 2002-2007.

Mine was 2004. Head unit directly drove the two cabin speakers. 4 channel under v berth drove the 4 component cockpit speakers and 2 channel behind XMD3 drove subwoofer.

For this with an amp under the v-berth, is it accessible from the storage compartment?
