300 Sundancer questions.

Wondering if anybody knows what the dimensions of the big square dash panel above the wheel on our 2004 300 Sundancer is? Looking to install a 9.2" wide Garmin GPS if the panel is big enough. I can measure it but it's a ways away.

The space is a trapezoidal shape on my 2002 300DA. I just made up a blanking / adpater plate that fits the space fairly well, its 10.5" wide at the top and 8.75" wide at the bottom and 7.5" tall

There is some clearance around this plate but not a lot... hopefully that helps.

I am clueless when it comes to props, I'm sure others will chime in. You will be happy with the 350s (5.7L). Supposedly there was a 6.2 option but I have yet to see one of those out in the wild.

I'm one of the few with the factory 6.2's - lot's of power, it does seem to be a rare configuration.

My buddy has an '05 with the 6.2's. That extra 40hp is very noticeable over my 350 mags.

I'm just waiting to see how these 22 pitch 4 blade props do on my 05 Biii's. From what Hill Props said they will make a big difference.
If that dont work then rip the 350's out and install twin 525hp's.

Maybe I should put a couple of these badges on the side, from the old Fox Mustang days:

Same here. The PO had a Raymarine touch 7" screen installed, and they made a black backing plate to fill the area. It doesn't look bad but it doesn't match the switchpads.

just pry/pop the woodgrain cover off the switch pads - like many others, I made a replacement panel out of starboard when I upgraded the electronics on my old 300

Last fall I bought new front windows, since the existing ones have seen better days. The quote do all the canvas over completely was like 6K so I decided to hold off on the bimini top and camper back.

Sure enough, I went to put in the new windows and do the snaps, and the new zippers don't match the old.

I went back to the place that did the windows for me, and they aren't taking orders for the time being.

So now that it could be a while until I can get a new bimini at least, do you think it's possible to use the new windows with the old bimini by using snaps at the top as well as the bottom? Or would it possibly sag too much at the top without a zipper?

Do you have the old window zippers still?
And the new window other half of new zippers?
Sew them together as close as possible, "zipper adaptor"

Ok thanks I'll see if I can do up a zipper extender.

I tried putting on the old cockpit cover (the one from the windshield out to the transom) but there's been significant shrinkage (aka I WAS IN THE POOL !!!!!)

So I'm already gonna be doing snap extenders if I hope to get that in place.

Fellow 300-ers: if you have a sub in the cockpit, where did you put it?

I'm not convinced I need one, and I certainly don't want a booming system, but I'm thinking at 10" Fusion to go along with my 4 Fusion speakers. I'd rather have a free-air mount than use some kind of enclosure. How about below the helm seat?
