300 Sundancer questions.

Has anyone moved the horn button to the steering wheel? I'm replacing my wheel as soon as the shrink wrap is off, and it's an auto wheel so it has a horn button in the middle.

Pressing a tiny button on the dash doesn't seem right

Depending on what the new wheel was originally designed for you would need a clock spring or a sliding contact to pass the signal through the steering hub and wire it to the horn relay but I'm not so sure it would be worth it as it would probably require a newer style helm steering assembly to accomplish this.

In the aft cabin, is there any way to get at the area(s) under the seats? By this I mean on either side of the water tank.

Well sometimes you get lucky. When I bought the 300 last year, the VHF mic was missing. I looked online but I couldn't really find anything (OEM or used) for a replacement, so I figured I would have to get a new radio.

Today I was dropping off some parts, since it's still shrinkwrapped, and I found two mics/cords in one of the galley drawers!

Unfortunately the pins were all bent where the mic attaches to the radio. But after 30 mins of straightening them out I was able to get the mic cord attached :)

BTW, if you ever have to do this, power down the VHF radio first. At one point I must have arc'd two pins and it started to make a beep. I hope I didn't send a distress signal

In the early 90's, where did the MARIPOL Garbage decal get placed? I found the decal in a bunch of misc papers and wanted to place it for USCG inspections. I actually found a bunch of warning decals and started placing them in the areas of where they should be.

Also if anybody has an old (92 4.3l) Mercarb they want to get rid of, I could use a parts carb. The Jackwagon (PO) we got the boat from stepped on the top of the carb and broke the airhorn off of it. Would rather rebuild than buy a new one if I can.

Wondering if anybody knows what the dimensions of the big square dash panel above the wheel on our 2004 300 Sundancer is? Looking to install a 9.2" wide Garmin GPS if the panel is big enough. I can measure it but it's a ways away.

I now have a 2005 Sea Ray 300 with 350 mags mpi's It came with the factory bow thruster option.
Is it hard to find replacement dash items like the smart view etc. Switch kidney shaped items etc?
Also needs a new steering wheel. The old one is delaminated and needs to be replaced. The shifter binical also has some pitting in the chrome cover. I would like to replace that also. I also need new Sea Ray 300 boat stickers. Anyone know where to find all of these items ?
I am having 22 pitch 4 blade props from Hill propellers installed on the bravo iii outdrives. Anyone else have this done ??
Thank You

For a steering wheel, it has the fairly standard 3/4" taper with a hub, and the wheel is held to the hub with six allen screws. If you pop off the rubber cover in the middle you can see those screws. I just bought a new wheel too, since mine was delaminated as well. So might not need to pull and replace the hub if you find a new wheel with the 6 bolt holes.

Good deal ... I haven't seen one with the bow thruster before.
Works like a champ too. Yes. Potentially less issues ahead with just me and the boss on board. Want less stress at dock. This will help.

I am clueless when it comes to props, I'm sure others will chime in. You will be happy with the 350s (5.7L). Supposedly there was a 6.2 option but I have yet to see one of those out in the wild.

Wow that is sharp! :)

But your old one is mint compared to how mine looked

Looks like the OEM wheel doesn't have much of a coating on it:

Hello All, looking to replace my faulty EIM and/or soft touch panels. Anyone on here a sales person for Flounder Pounder? Is there a Club discount? Lol. Or should I just hit them up directly. Has anyone switched over yet? Looks like it will be a long day of pulling and replacing wiring.

I sometimes see this ad pop up (sadly no discount code it seems):
