300 Sundancer questions.

New to the forum here... just purchased my first Sea Ray, a 2007 300DA.
Already looking ahead to possible upgrades and tweaks. Current chartplotter is a Raymarine C70 with the known intermittent screen issue. I have removed the unit and will attempt a repair, but thinking ahead to a new Axiom 9 with the adapter plate. Has anyone had any luck installing anything larger, Axiom 12 or 9 pro?
Axiom 12 didnt fit. Very close but not quite

9 and 2 7s

Thank you!

I suspected as much, now planning on a new Axiom+ 9 in the spring. Your picture helped me visualize it.
I have the smartcraft gauges so will be keeping them in the upper binnacle but tying them into the nmea 2000 network later.

Sorry for late response but I do have part #'s if you need them. Just did mine.

Does anyone have an explanation what might cause oil or lower unit oil to drip out the prop? Boat is due for a service this week and noticed this am oil or lower unit oil dripping out the prop. Thanks

There's two seals that need replacing . Same thing with my boat. Easy fix

Good Morning,
i took my 300 sundancer out yesterday and noticed the starboard engine required more rpms than the port side in order to sync properly. It felt like the starboard engine was running well but the drive could not translate that power into propulsion. I felt like the rpm difference was about 1,000 to 1,500. I have also felt like the boat has a vibration that i am not used to. At lower rpms everything seems ok, but the starboard has always required more throttle that the port side engine. The throttle on the starboard engine is also stiffer than the port side. I am concerned the Drive is failing.....Thoughts?

Have you done compression check? Sorry for late response.

I had heads replaced on my port engine and that took care of compression..cheaper than replacing entire engine.

Unless you had severe water damage if water got into cylinders. I just did my Port and compression is normal and runs like a new engine. I had them redo pulleys and sand blast and repainted also.

I can give you what it cost me . I did have to replace lower manifold and bottom of engine that had holes which added to expense but if its just the heads its cheaper than an entire new engine if the cylinders and block have no water damage

Found water in oil in port so just going to bite the bullet plan on spending a lot of time on the water after I retire took advantage of real low intrest rate

And close to 900 hrs. Now in May I will have new motors and have done a lot of charging system work

Ok good luck . I'm just did manifold and risers on Port as with new heads unless you replace manifolds and risers it voids warranty. They needed to be done anyways.

Mine had 400 hours but was severely neglected by previous owner..He took out thermostats on engines during sea trial. I'm retiring also so I will be good to go when I'm done as everything is being replaced. Manifolds risers ,300 hour service, outdrive seals replaced, impeller throughout .
