Looks good! how are the arms holding up? At least you are using your time on the hard constructively!! When does it get splashed? - Jeff

The arms are good. Kinda feel like Popeye:grin:. I should splash towards the end of the week:thumbsup:.

Looking good. Flagship is an amazing product and is what I use on my blue hull also.

I would also suggest that when you polish the hull again that you consider masking the bottom paint first so you don't get polish on it since it won't come off. I learned this the hard way on my boat so now I mask off the paint and also use trim paper below it to prevent any splatters of polish from getting on it.

Looks good. I bet you excited to be back on the water / oil.

Shafts and damage all fixed??? or are these pics pre-tug boat rope incident???

I wouldn't worry about the white polish on the bottom paint. If he takes it out in the next couple of weeks, the oil slick will stain the polish dark to match. :smt089

Looks great! How is the oil spill going to affect you?

No Rod this was done since the haul out. I started a couple of weeks ago with a gel coat compound and then the Flagship cleaner/wax after that. Yesterday I did another coat of just Flagship cleaner/wax. I'm probably going to do another coat before I splash, hopefully by the end of the week.

Dave, I thought you used Shurhold Pro Polish

I honestly don't know yet. We're waiting to see if it comes into "The Rigolets" (where I picked up the line that did all of the damage to my boat:smt089).
If it gets there, it will probably make its way into Lake Pontchatrain. Officials are planning to "boom" the Rigolets so that should help with the seepage.

If you want to see updates, check out "NOLA.COM". That's the local newspaper/website for New Orleans.

If you are still out of the water, I'd recommend a coat of Meguiar's Flagship Marine Paste Wax. It is a fair amount of work to apply and take off, but it will hold up far longer than the cleaner/wax product. I just finished doing my 03 420DA. I used Meguiars #49 compounding material to clean up a few areas on the hull that needed cleaning, then did a cleaner/wax coat, then when I had a good uniform shine on the entire boat, I applied the Flagship Paste wax. I apply the paste wax by hand, and buff with a Makita Rotary with buffing pads at ~1300 RPMs. The Makita really gets the burn going in your shoulders and arms after a couple hours, but you'll get long lasting results for the effort. This exercise will also have you think twice about getting a bigger boat.

Thanks Skip, will this eliminate the water spots / stains when I rinse off after a day on the water?

Hey guys,

I remember reading in our famous thread the benefit of applying 2 coats of polish. I did it last year and did see the difference. But, what's the trick with multiple coats of WAX? I've used Pure Wax last year and it was fine. This year I decided (based on recommendations from the other thread) to use Flagship Wax hoping to get even better results.

If your water is hard, or you are running in salt, I'm not aware of any product that will eliminate water spots or stains.

On my 420DA, the flagship paste wax coat simply makes the shine last longer/water bead longer, meaning that I can go longer between applications.
