290 sundancers 1994-midyear 97 "We need a thread"

ok. So now my starboard voltage gauge is showing about 10 to 11 volts when running. Port is 12.5 and the triple bank charger seems to be charging all 3 batteries fine. Why is the alternator not charging the starboard side?

Could someone with a curtain in front of the bow berth take a measurement of the length of the curtain? We didn't get that curtain when we bought and we are having new ones made. Thanks

It doesn't sound like the alternator isn't charging any of the batteries if the Voltage only reads 12.5 on the best side. You need at least 13V or a bit more to offer any charge to a 12V battery. A 12V Battery is actually 13.2V minimum when fully charged.

Does anyone know where I can purchase the folding Seat Legs for the seats on a 1994 300DA? I'm pretty sure they are the same as on the 290's. Sea Ray does not offer them now, but I'm certain they didn't manufacture them.

Agreed..I get about 12.5 on Port and 14 on Stbd while underway...been that way for a while with no issues

Yep, that's just telling you that your load balancer is pushing the voltage where it is needed most.

Has anyone installed a flat screen in these boats? I have a 94 300 and was thinking about installing on a mount between the mirror and back of the dinette area. Thanks

I'm still debating...I think a few have mounted on the bulkhead between the galley and front berth.
I think I will use a scissor type arm that will fold inside the sliding door behind the burner stove with a quick disconnect to remove and stash the tv when not in use.

I found a tv I liked at Walmart...24"visio led with WIFI and decided to mount it on a quick disconnect bracket on a full motion arm....I remove and place the tv in the hanging closet when not in use.... Jeff

Thanks frosh coach..
I figured that was the best place for me.
It can be see from any position on the dinette.
I thought about the bulkhead by the front birth where I could swing out and watch from the birth but
was worried about the thin bulkhead and the routing of the cables.

I like the LED switches next to the microwave too...never thought of that. Quick/easy way to do a little modernizing

hello, Im new to the site. Just bought a 1996 290 single engine generator set up. Love the boat so far! Im going to upgrade the stereo system and looking for ideas for sub woofer placement? amp placement?

Welcome..
My 290 came with the factory installed amp and sub.
The amp is located under the top stair in the cabin.
The sub is right below the starboard helm speaker in front of the captians seat.
Good luck!

Hi everyone, I haven't really posted anything although I've been lurking for quite a while. I have a battery question about the type of batteries to use. I have a three bank system and in need of two new batts. I have one year old battery and its a deep cycle. Should I use all deep cycle batts or one deep and two starter batts?

I would suggest that if you use the batteries for anything other than starting the engines...get the deep cycle.
especially if your on the hook and use the fridge, non LED lights. etc...
