290 sundancers 1994-midyear 97 "We need a thread"

My wife went on a 310 searay and fell in love. I guess it's time for a new project lol

Taking off the 4 blades and going back to my ss 3 blades lost too much speed and reduced fuel economy. Took me about 40 min longer to get to block island and about 20 gal more fuel.

The loss of top speed would be expected with 4 blade. Were you running at WOT the majority of the time also? That might explain the fuel economy as well.

As I understand them, the advantage of 4 blades is getting on plane quicker and staying on plane at a lower RPM so you gain fuel economy only if you are running a lower planing speeds/RPM's

I think the fuel economy is due to the longer running time extra 45 min there and 45 min back might have been pushing it a little harder to make up some time.

Deal fell threw on the 310 so it looks like the 290 is here for a while longer

Summers over boys and girls gonna wife goes back to work Tuesday son starts Thursday then is soccer and track on the weekends god I miss summer already lol.

Hit my 1st sand bar/beach last night. No damage just scratched ego. It was so dark no Stars or moon light. The tide was low and I cut the turn too wide. Thank god I was at idle speed was able to get off the bar on my own.

Ok. So, I'm installing a windlass. I have a pair of 1 awg wires, ran them from the chain locker over the bulkhead, along the starboard side of the v-birth, through the closet, behind the storage area in the dining area, and then got stuck. I can't find a way to get the wires to either the cockpit/helm or the engine compartment. Do I need to remove the deck and look at simply the hull.....as it looked when they wired it at the factory? 4 hours of trying to feed it through any opening I can find is not working.

Doug there is a zipper in the cabinet in the aft cabin that gain access to the wire harness that runs up to the helm. A wire snake helps. Also be careful I broke the track for the tambour door when I ran wires I leaned too hard on it and snap! Hope this helps

does anyone know the depth of the radar arch inspection covers. I am looking to install some speakers here and need to know how deep the speaker can be!

Anyone want to trade or sell their cockpit seating. I have the foldable bench in the back of the cockpit. I prefer Wrap around style with the filler cushions for a sun pad. Let me know if anyone is interested. My seat is in great condition with the teal accent bar. Pix upon request.

I did!

The first picture is an ac outlet and HDMI cable for my laptop...HDMI cable goes to the TV.

Second picture is an induction burner to replace the old burner...much nicer and efficient.

Jeff, I couldn't get the link to the induction burner pic to work...would be very interested in seeing that.

Since I dont have a winter here, there werent any special upgrades. Got a new display for my radar off Ebay but haven't even installed it yet.
