280 Sundancer secret storage compartment

Thanks for the tip Doug. I looked for it this weekend and found it. I don't think many dealers know about it. I made the wife look for it and now its full. I owe you a beer also. We are on the boat for 9 days this week. Anything beats being at work.

I don't know where it is either but I had to share the info with my wife. She was so happy and now understands that my time reading CSR posts is not wasted. I hope I can find it.

As a fairly new owner of a 2004 280DA I am not familiar with this "secret" storage. With a wife and 2 kids I could use all the storage i can find. Would someone PM me with instructions for accessing it? Thx..

I would not want to take away the joy your will experience when you find it.

Read thru this entire message string then head to the boat.

I promise a big smile will come on you face when you find it.

Great Job! How did it feel when you found it?

Are you somewhere on the Winnebago Pool chain of lakes this week?

I think we plan to head to Columba Park this weekend, dine at Jim & Linda’s and have a campfire.

Cool Woody, let us know how it goes.

Will you be around Winnebago this weekend?

You’re also welcome to join us if you would like.

Hey, I could make everyone buy me a drink! LOL

I told my wife it may be hard to find. I showed her DVPANDYO1 posts and suggested that we may have to duplicate his efforts:thumbsup:. Alas, we may never find it.:smt089

To find it like dpvandy01 you may want to put in the music CD with the “bow chicka wow wow” song before you start your search. Have fun.

Ok, I need to know so I can show my buddy who has a 280DA this weekend at Aquapalooza.....someone PM me for gods sake. I don't want to rip his mid cabin apart if it's not meant to be opened.

For some of the folks with previously owned boats, I bet somebody finds something interesting in one of the boats. Kind of fun reading through the x-mas day suprise thread.

Maybe if i look hard enough i can find something hidden in my boat?

Scott

Yup....went out on the boat tonight and found it...had no idea to ever look there! Thanks for the tip!

I found a dog PFD and a couple of beach towels in mine. Oh, and the missing table pedestal!:smt038 I keep all my seldom used but must have items in there now.

No PM as this has been posted here before. Maybe not for the 280, but this is where I found the info.

On the 300DA, remove the lower starboard side cushion (thus the head comments), pull out on the upper cushion, pull a tad harder and "success!" The door opens from the top and is hinged on the bottom. The 280 should be similar.

Do you have a photo?

Peter.

It's about 6 inches below the left nipple in this pic.

I use mine to store bar items like martini glasses, mugs & shakers!

My 10 year old (at the time) discovered it by accident.

I thought he had broke something.
