280 Sundancer secret storage compartment

Mine has sheets and blankets in it, as well as some kids toys/games. I've actually thought of taking the secret cover off the compartment completely, making it open and easier to access, as well as allowing for a couple inches more head room in the cubbyhole.

I am stunned......I thought maybe this was a quirk, that one person had not found the storage compartment on his boat, but I sit here in amazement of the number of folks who do not know about it.

In every boat I have owned, I have virtually taken apart the interior and exterior of the vessel and know every nook and cranny within a couple hours of ownership. You guys should be ashamed. (said in jest, but with a little seriousness thrown in, I mean really.....how well can you say that you know your boat if you can't find or did not know about a relatively obvious storage compartment. [remember, I owned a 2001 280 DA for three seasons, which qualifys me to make the observation above])

Did you also know about the secret cockpit lounge built in, flit out support leg?

Here'a another 280 secret... the speaker wiring for a subwoofer is there, whether you have a factory installed woofer or not!

Two Questions:

1) Are these wires behind the access panel in the mid-berth ceiling?

2) Where is the factory sub mounted?

.

Okay I was about to post that I took time out from work at lunch today, went to the boat, and found it. But now sfergson727 has shamed me out of it.

similarly, has anyone unplugged the stock stereo amp and plugged in a larger one without having to run new power cables for a larger amp? Seems like this could be a quick and easy upgrade that I'm considering.

OK we all give up! The tension is too much! Just tell us when pictures will be posted, you know do a tease, like TV news(pictures at eleven). Guarantee you'll have a big audience.

I have a 1996 330 does anyone know if the 330 have this compartment????

I've found the compartment and the leg, and only owned the boat for 3 months. With that said, I'm guessing that the general response once the location is given is "That isn't secret, I've been storing my ABC and 123 in there since day one"

There are other secrets to be found however that I could use others help on.

1) The switch in the engine room that cuts fuel consumption in 1/2 and doubles HP. Please no teasing when this on is found, just post the pic!

2) The secret formula/combination that will make:
2 kids stop bickering and enjoy the water/outdoors
1 baby not find every dangerous angle/point/choking hazard on a boat, take a nap when he should, and sleep through the night.
Will make Wives relax and understand plain English when docking/anchoring
Finally, stops that Magma grille from burning food - that thing gets hot!

Great Job! How did it feel when you found it?

Are you somewhere on the Winnebago Pool chain of lakes this week?

I think we plan to head to Columba Park this weekend, dine at Jim & Linda’s and have a campfire.
Yep, we are at the marina. Spent a night at High Cliff and had a campfire. Drove the truck up and around Door County on Wed. Having a great time.

Found it yesterday. Thanks for the clues. We needed a little extra space. Lay down, reach back, and pull.

Who hoo!

I wanted to put my daughter in there then post a photo. This resulted in my wife getting mad at me for posting photos of the kids online. This resulted in us getting in an argument. Were still in a mild fight, darn it. :smt014

If someone else wishes to post a photo at this point, go ahead.

Fine Doug, I'll do it. Send your daughter over and I'll put her in it. I would try my daughter but she will be 19 next month.

i tried to stuff my dog in there and take a pic, but my GF doesn't want me posting pics of my dog on the internet.
