I don't know if the 5.7 was offered in 2006 but the 350 MAG is a 5.7.

Who told you it had a 5.7 in it? Has it been repowered? I do not think the 5.7 was an options in 2006.
Hi folks,
Last year I bought a 2006 240 sundeck and have been looking for an anchoring system option. Either a windlass and or hand crancked (winch) set up of the bow. Any ideas? Also we were thinking a pedastal kettle type BBQ on the stern deck. Any suggestions or pointers on that placement and do you dismantle your bbq when you are planning on cruising at high rpm or when wakeboarding (tubing, skiing, etc)?
Thanks
Kam
.... As for the windlass, I wish there was a setup for the sundecks. I'm actually fortunate that my anchor hatch opens sideways, but would love a windlass. We anchor in some tight areas so the windlass would make achoring a lot easier.
Any links. What is fabricated or a kit. Wonder how the bow cover was fabricated. I don't use the front ladder. There is a setup for a windlass on the sundecks if you want to do away with the front boarding ladder. I saw one on a 290SD once. Sweet system.
...according to the Sea Ray spec sheet for my 2006, standard power was 5.0L MPI Bravo3 at 260 hp.
The optional engines were a 350 Magnum MPI with 300 hp, or the MX6.2 MPI with 320 hp. All engines fuel injected.
I have the 350 Magnum Bravo3 in my boat. We Love it. It runs in the upper 40's top end, and will pull my large frame out of the water on a slalom ski with 10 people on board. I don't think the extra 20 hp of the 6.2 would make much difference.

Jim,
Good to hear from you. Ye it is pretty easy to keep a thread going about one of the best sport boats Sea Ray ever built (IMHO).

The old 270 SD has almost identical dimensions to the 240SD; is a bit heavier and can be had with teh 496MAG and is faster than the 240SD when equipped so ... so to me the 270SD is kinda the hi-po 240 SD
I think the 240's layout is a lot more efficient (probably the best of any boat within 3' of this size), but big old heavy tubs.
