220 DA thread

Hi Nelson.

I have a 1989 220DA that's been in the driveway for a few years and am getting ready to reupholster/clean/restore it. Do you know of any good threads showing a detailed restore with pics/techniques used? I'm definitely a 'weekend warrior' and have forgotten a lot of the research I did before so any help would be greatly appreciated!
you can search the forums for restoration lots of great information in them like so http://www.clubsearay.com/index.php?search/10104626/&q=restoration&o=date

Reviving this thread! Any 220 DAs still cruising? I picked one up a few months ago and have been bringing her back to life. I’ve gained so much from this thread and applied so many things already. If anyone is still out there:

where did everyone get the tall camper bimini enclosures. I only have a shorter style. Albeit in great shape, it’s really tight and I would love to have the tall enclosure with the plastic windshield when buttoned.

Not so much a 220 DA question but there are big scratches down the hull of the bow that the previous owner tried to sand down. Now there are just big patches of half ass sanded down paint or gel coat. Any idea if I can spot paint the areas with gel or top coat? If it would blend properly with wet sanding and buffing?

I've got you! Just purchased a 1990 in great condition, learning alot from this thread.

Although I just read your other thread and now I think that I may be the only one left. Want to send me your camper top? lol

Thinking on buying a 220DA with 250hp diesel power, any caveats on the boat, and what should I look out for when I go to see the boat for the first time, it's on the hard just now.

Gone had a look at the boat today, advertised as built in 2006, checking the HIN it was built in Jan 1990, for a 2006 boat it was terrible, as a 1990 still a bit meh. SERE0478A090 IR-220 D A - 620

It was reengined with a Yamaha ME422 245hp running through it's original Alpha Gen1 outdrive, and that was probably about the best bit of the boat.

The bilge was full of water, batteries were still charged but auto bilge pump was not lifting the water out. head linings were mostly ok but the overhead hatches were leaking and soaked the carpets and seating, the double berth was at least dry.

Don't think I will bid for it at the auction, it has already at what other 220DAs are going for here.

Anyone have a replacement fridge spec handy? Northbound came with the freezer box and we’d like to put a fridge in there- going to cost a fortune but we need a fridge.

If someone has done this which fridge/model did you use?
