2015-16 Football thread - any team banter welcome.

from the indystar: The players, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the delicate nature of the situation inside Colts headquarters, outlined a number of concerns.

Chief among them: coach Chuck Pagano and his staff are being directed to follow lineup decisions — usually the coaches' prerogative — made by the front office, something numerous NFL sources confirmed. This has been a recurring source of irritation for Pagano and his coaches.During the past several weeks, and even dating to last season, there have been instances in which, sources said, players approached Pagano or his assistants with suggestions or requests, only to be told they could not act on the ideas because of forces beyond their control. = Puppet

Sure, he was probably playing along to get along, but at some point you have to put your foot down, and he has been very slow to do so, if he has at all.

I was thinking about the part Pagano was resisting on, but you are right Scott, he was a puppet as he went along even if he didn't like it.

Being on the west coast we only hear what the talking heads say, your situation sounds identical to the Hawks prior to Allen buying the team from the idiot owners that owned the team after the Nordstrom family sold them. During that period the Hawks went from a decent expansion team almost making a SB once to a less than average college team (remember Jackson running over idiot Bosworth). From 1976 to 1988 there was a 3-5 year waiting list for season tickets in 1989 they had 20,000-30,000 unsold seats, games were blacked out for a 150 mile radius even satellite & cable.

If Indy's front office doesn't figure out how to trust who they hire to do their jobs it sounds like their in for some tough years. Since Scott's post earlier I've done some reading on the problems you've been posting, hope for your sake and all football fans owners will wake up to see what their going to do to their bottom line. Indy isn't the only team being controlled by greedy owners with the exception of Green Bay, I'd rather every city or state owned the team instead of tax payers footing the bill for stadiums controlled by greedy Billionaire owners.

My rant & opinion of the day.

I hope the Pats win the Super Bowl again just to keep the haters creative!

So...being a Rams fan we're usually disgusted by now by the way the team is playing.....not so this year (ironically could be their last year here).......defense is strong...offense needs some work but we have Gurley and he looks like the real deal....I'm somewhat apprehensive but encouraged that good things are coming.....if we beat the Vikings Sunday I think we've got a shot at a decent season.

Heres hoping.

The Hawks have a bye week, as do the AZ Cards. We play them next week in our house.

There's a sports bar just a couple of miles from our digs in AZ that is truly a haven for Cards fans. We always wear our Hawk gear when we go there just to remind them that there are a lot of Hawk fans down here.

Next Sunday is going to be a lot of fun at Fuzzy's. http://www.fuzzyssportsgrill.com/

Stepping away from the NFL banter for a moment.... The best game of the weekend will not be in the NFL but rather today in the SEC. LSU and Alabama meet today on CBS at 5:00PM PST. There is so much riding on this game and the 2 best college running backs in the nation will be on the field. This game will most likely decide the Heisman winner. Even if you are not a fan of college football you want to tune in to this. I am reasonbly sure there are more than a couple of NFL teams that couldn't beat either LSU or Alabama right now.

The game should prove to be very entertaining.

Today will go down as Separation Saturday in college football. Lot of crazy games. TCU ran into a team that can play defense and lost to the Cowboys. Northwestern scored two TD's in the final two minutes to upset Michigan State, and Alabama is up by 14 over LSU with under four minutes to play.

The only football enjoyment for me this year is watching LSU. The Admiral is an alum and if you guys haven't seen them check 'em out. Their running back, Fournette, is averaging 200 yards per game. Absolutely a blast to watch. Should be a runaway for the Heisman.

Shawn

As I predicted earlier, Alabama's front 7 is unlike anything Fournette has ever seen, and him rushing for 200 yards just wasn't going to happen. The entire LSU rushing attack totaled around 60 yards, and Fournette ran for 31. Over half of which came on a single run late in the 4th quarter.

Is Alabama going to win the National Championship again this year? Probably not. But man, it's nice watching them try.

Roll Tide.

Well that was embarrassing......back to the hapless Rams......2-16 on 3rd down conversions.....penalties up the a$$.....AND can't control themselves and end up with a terrible hit on Bridgewater that puts him out of the game.

Vikings deserved that gams.

I guess you called it. That was embarrassing. This was the first time I have seen Alabama this year but have seen every LSU game. They looked so good. Oh well....shows what I know.
