from the indystar: The players, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the delicate nature of the situation inside Colts headquarters, outlined a number of concerns.
Chief among them: coach Chuck Pagano and his staff are being directed to follow lineup decisions — usually the coaches' prerogative — made by the front office, something numerous NFL sources confirmed. This has been a recurring source of irritation for Pagano and his coaches.During the past several weeks, and even dating to last season, there have been instances in which, sources said, players approached Pagano or his assistants with suggestions or requests, only to be told they could not act on the ideas because of forces beyond their control. = Puppet
Sure, he was probably playing along to get along, but at some point you have to put your foot down, and he has been very slow to do so, if he has at all.
I was thinking about the part Pagano was resisting on, but you are right Scott, he was a puppet as he went along even if he didn't like it.

Being on the west coast we only hear what the talking heads say, your situation sounds identical to the Hawks prior to Allen buying the team from the idiot owners that owned the team after the Nordstrom family sold them. During that period the Hawks went from a decent expansion team almost making a SB once to a less than average college team (remember Jackson running over idiot Bosworth). From 1976 to 1988 there was a 3-5 year waiting list for season tickets in 1989 they had 20,000-30,000 unsold seats, games were blacked out for a 150 mile radius even satellite & cable.
If Indy's front office doesn't figure out how to trust who they hire to do their jobs it sounds like their in for some tough years. Since Scott's post earlier I've done some reading on the problems you've been posting, hope for your sake and all football fans owners will wake up to see what their going to do to their bottom line. Indy isn't the only team being controlled by greedy owners with the exception of Green Bay, I'd rather every city or state owned the team instead of tax payers footing the bill for stadiums controlled by greedy Billionaire owners.
My rant & opinion of the day.
