What do you guys think of the new 190? Doyou think that it has the normal Sea Ray quality. I noticed that the bench rear seat only has a couple of small hinges...It doesn't look very sturdy.

I see your point of concern about the hinges on the bench seat cooler. They look a little vulnerable.

As Beernutz said, I also have a huge engine cover / sunpad, and I've lived with it. Some care is needed. If you are shopping boats for the first time, you'll find a few "what-were-they-thinking" issues with almost any boat. Sea Ray is a quality boat, and very popular in the Omaha market.

A consideration, I have the "in dash" cooler, and it is such a great storage space, and so much easier to just load a regular cooler - that I can also take in the SUV on the way home, I just use a standard cooler. If you use the underseat cooler as simple storage space, you won't be opening it much.

Since you are in my market, and probably shopping Omaha Marine, I have some experience there. They do a great job of updating their on-line inventory, so if you want to consider shopping used you can keep an eye on what is available. Their pro-shop tends to be a surprisingly good value, meeting or beating a lot of on-line deals. Service will tend to be expensive, so you'll want to learn to do some of your own when your warranty is done.

If you go new, it may be worthwhile to check out the Costco program. Very interesting thread on this topic going on now:

Don't miss the Boat and Travel show at Century Link Center. Omaha Marine is always there. They usually mark stuff with boat show specials.

Good luck and hopefully the warm weather returns here soon.

I just bought one at the boat show in Toronto and spent 4 solid day walking from one boat to the other the funny thing that I found a lot of the other dealers would run the sea ray down as part of thier sales pitch

That makes sense to me. If you're selling Kias, you better have an answer for the people who are looking at Hondas.

Hey Folks!

New the forum, really happy to have found it. Bought my first Sea Ray about a year ago (found a great deal on a new 2010 185 4.3TKS, and loved it). Decided to move to a 190, which I custom ordered thru Sea Ray. Came in at the dealership about a week ago, and I *love it*. I ordered it sight-unseen, as there were none in stock in Northern California for me to sit in, but the folks at Sea Ray were great, sending me additional info, and answering about a million text messages and emails. They were great, and I gotta tell you...the 190 really doesn't photograph well, meaning it looks much better in person. The quality of materials, and the attention to detail on the design and engineering are top-shelf. I custom ordered the gel-coat combination, and got the two-tone in "Patina"' which is the grey/brown used in the SLX and Sundecks. I'll try to oost some pics, but bear with me as doing so on an iPad gets wonky!

I really like the new tower design with the black finish. I saw one recently and one person can fold it down.

Hey, thanks guys.

My 185 didn't have a tower, and that was one of the primary reasons I moved to this 190. I also wanted to go to a fuel-injected engine, and after a crazy highway blowout last summer a dual axle trailer - which, happens to be en route from Sea Ray (and why I haven't taken posession as of yet).

I also researched the 205, liking the great interior space, but storing a 185/190 (same hull, right?) in San Francisco is tough enough when it comes to space. You should see the looks I get pulling a boat through town - people must think I'm nuts. While the 190's not as wide as the 205, I think they did a good job getting as much space as possible with that beam. When I compared it to my 185 (which now sits next to it at the dealership) I can see that they've flattened the floor which gives the perception of more space, and really increased the storage in the gunnels, and under the bow seats. I really like the new sunpad, but will have to say that the new design looks great, but results in much smaller openings and makes the storage space seem smaller.

(And with that being said, my friends and family would probably bet that I'll find some excuse to upgrade to the 205 next winter! LOL)

Congratulations on the beautiful 190. It looks great. I'm envious of the tower, and the comments that it folds down so easily. Something I'm going to have to check into at the local boat show this weekend.

Without doing my due diligence research, I think I can give you a little fuel to start shopping the 205.

My biggest storage issue is width and height. 9 ft wide and 7 ft tall garage door. My beam is 8'0" and the trailer under it is 8'6". I think normal trailers are limited to 8'6" by Federal highway regs. And I think most Sea Rays sitting on Tandem sport boat trailers are all on 8'6" wide trailers.

So, you can probably increase your beam all the way to 8'6" and get away with your current storage from a width standpoint.

Wow! That's the nicest 190 I have ever seen. Love the color combo and the upgrades......nice job!

Thanks, Tonka! When I say I might have driven some (very nice) folks at Sea Ray nuts, I'm not joking. :) And Dave, I really *do* hope I cana hold off thinking about the 205 for at least a year...because once the wheels start turning, I'm done for!

Aye, she's a rare beauty! I especially love the view of her rear (insert joke of your choice here) and her color scheme.

Does any one know what the range is for the 2012 190 Sport as when reading up it seems to only have quite a small fuel tank at 98 ltrs.
