Hi All,
I took my 2002 26' Sundancer with 5.7EFI out a couple of times this Spring and it ran great. I had a service done (Impeller, Oil Change, Fuel Filter, Spark Plugs) went to take boat out I went to accelerate, and it began running really rough and it would not go above 2K RPM / 10 MPH. Returned to my slip, had the mechanic come back who thought it was bad Spark Plug Wires, Cap, Rotor. Replaced them then the boat wouldn't start.. Mechanic ran the computer and it showed 2 codes, he cleared them (did not write them down) and boat started. I took it out and went 30ish MPH easy. Stopped at a friends dock, hung out for a bit, boat started right up and went back to slip. I went back a few days later and the boat would not start mechanic said he was stumped. I went to a different mechanic and her ran the computer and it showed 1 code (misfire) he noticed spark plugs were not gapped correctly, and timing was advanced (likely by previous mechanic) he corrected, and boat started and ran multiple times. I went back the next day and the boat will not start again..
Anyone dealt with something like this? or have any thoughts?
