1992 Sea Ray 330 Sundancer Refit and Modernization

Got all the doors cut, stained and handle holes drilled. Still have to clear coat, install handles. Sea Ray seems to have added a fabric backer over the paper backer. The paper alone is flimsy so Ill glue some before install.

I also started compounding the hull sides and prepping for the boot stripes and cabin side stripes, but crazy rain put that on hold for a few days.

Those look awesome. Weds and Thurs weather really put a damper on my plans but yesterday and today made up for. When do you plan on launching. Have a great rest of the weekend.

Thanks Mike, I was planning on sending the boat out this week, but im still installing the water heater, the radar array, and some other cosmetics.

The hauler gave me measurements for bridge clearance if the array is on the arch, looks like im ok to install it here before shipping. Ill probably have to set up the electronics network at the dock at this rate.

Just finished going through the entire thread! Thanks for posing and keep going. I am just curious what thickness, grade and species of plywood did you use for the subfloor?

Mounted the new water heater, plan to have the marina plumb it in when they dewinterize the engines.

Cut an inspection plate hole in the arch bottom to install a backing plate and torque down the radar array.

Got the starboard side boot stripe on.

Have to do the port side boot and upper stripes on both sides next week, and install the radar. Also gonna see if i can install the MFD's, power supply, dsm, transducer, switch, gps antenna and power for a TV. Gonna put the bimini back on too.

The subfloor was 3/8 BCX exterior fur coated with laminating epoxy resin and glued and screwed down, really helped level things out. The engineered flooring was 3/8 so a total of 3/4. Had to adjust up the wheels on the dinette extension pullout to keep the dinette seating level.

She is looking awesome both inside and out. Was dirty and grungy when I saw her back in October. We pulled the shrink wrap off on ours Saturday and my wife gave her outside a good scrubbing, I wanted to polish and wax but time did not permit, I'm kinda being forced to Launch this week because I am in front of a couple of bad apples. Oh well there could be worse things.

Question I noticed on mine at the base of the windshield is what looks like some kind of foam seal covering the screws and it is dried out and looks awful, was wondering how yours looks and if you had any plans for it? I did not get a chance to take a pic but will post one on my thread when I do. On My 250 the windshield screws were covered by a plastic trim that snapped in but this looks different. Have great day

There are some thread here on the foam. You can replace it with foam, or rubber. I am opting for rubber. Rebed the screws while you are doing this job.

Use the rubber Taylor marine has it. Not cheap

I know this is Zool's thread but does anybody have the part# for the rubber?

Zool, I want to thank you for the headliner cleaning tip. We have been using the 50/50 bleach and water mix, spraying small sections at a time and it's coming out great. Since my interior is still intact we need to be careful to keep things covered so as not to bleach stain things.
Fyi per a post I found regarding the foam covering the windshield screws it was recommended to use the same type foam SR used. It can be purchased at McMaster Carr in Robbinsville NJ way cheaper than the plastic from fp marine, and they're 20 min from my house. 10ft for $20. When I sit down at my work computer tomorrow I can share the link. The original foam lasted 32 yrs so if replaced with the same it might out last me. Lol. Going to measure the width today to get exact part #.
Looking forward to seeing your splash.

I forgot to measure the windshield screw cover yesterday, but this is the link I found on McmasterCarr, they have may sizes and this one is think is close. https://www.mcmaster.com/93725K172/

Mine currently has the rubber on the front section, and foam on the side sections.

obvious shrinkage is the source of the windshield leak.

So the hauler picked up the boat today, and its confirmed at the Marina getting a mechanical bill of health.

heres a pictorial of the progress so far, the rest will have to wait.
