1988-1989 30 to 34 foot Sedan Bridge owners

had a survey conducted today on my perspective 1988 345 sedan bridge. Under the port engine there are two stringers one near the front of the engine and one just ahead of the joint for the prop shaft. This are is full of water. There are water marks like it has been an issue for quite some time. The starboard side is set up the same but it is dry as a bone and has no water line from water being in there. Any suggestions on why there is water there and no way for it to empty into the bilge to be pumped out?

Going to call surveyor ask him to return and check the risers

Hi folks.

Brand new here and a new 305 sedan bridge owner. Any tips and info with regard to this boat is appreciated. I'm looking to do some cosmetic work on it over the next couple of years. Mostly a very clean ship. Bridge windshields are delaminating some and I'm looking to install a windlass. Curious as to where the best place to go for replacement parts would be?

Cheers,
Murph

Did you end up buying the boat? I'm also looking at a 1989 sea ray 340 sedan bridge. I was wondering about range and seaworthiness. I'm in Hawaii and I want to do interisland trips with it; so cross swell travel and range are issues. I saw something where they said they were burning 30 GPH 20 kts., which seems crazy. What has your experience been?

Shoot me a message, got an 89 34 SB. Been dying to talk to somebody with the same boat :smt024
Hey Oscarlyy, do you still have your 340 SB? I have a 345 SB and am getting ready to start a rehab...any input would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Is there anyone with a parts manual for a 1988 Sedan Bridge 345? Is a 1988 345 exactly the same as a 1989 340?

What’s everyone’s cruising rpm on ‘88 sedan bridge 345. Mercruisers 454 5.7L mark 4. thanks

Does anyone know the prop size and shaft diameter for 1989 340 Sedan Bridge with twin Mercruiser 454?

Got an ‘88 345 SB , anyone have one and can shed some light on electrical? Other areas as well but too many to list! Lol

We got ours last June (2021), bought it up in Friday Harbor, WA (Pretty Much Canada) and piloted it down to Olympia, WA then had it trucked to Portland, OR. The PO came along for the journey, along with my Dad, (no wife and kids on this trip, seemed like a bad idea). Also, this allowed me to get about 18 hours of seat time under my belt, this boat is my first boat ever and knew I was going to need some practice, every trip I get better. On that trip we treated the boat like a trawler and cruised at 1700 RPM at about 7-8ish knots, sometimes fighting the tide we were going 4ish, and we averaged 10 GPH with the 454s. It wasn't until the end of the season back in October that I realized I could cruise at 1250 RPM with just one engine and be traveling about 6-7 knots and most likely are burning 3GPH. Don't get me wrong its fun to go fast, but the boat doesn't really plane until 17ish and my motors don't have enough power until 3200 rpm which is at 20, and at those speeds my 3 year old is scared in mommas lap, who is then telling me to slow down! So we can talk and enjoy our vacation at 6 knots and save a lot of money on fuel and possibly maintenance. I've done some new mods that I'll have to share at some point soon as well.

Just bought one.
How do you like the diesels? I wonder how many of these boats came with those? What's you average GPH, and your average speed?

Found this pretty cool, no app. ..
Boat-fuel-economy.com
Select your engine it shows gph or mpg at various rpm. Kinda cool.
That is a cool one, and the little bit of estimating that've done, I think it's pretty close. Really makes you think about if an extra 1/2 mph faster is worth that extra 2 gallons of gas ($10)
Our dinghy has the Epropulsion motor and it has a power gauge on it, I use my Garmin watch as my GPS speed and it's really insane how 300 watts gets you going about 3.5/4 mph and 1000 watts does 5/5.5 mph.
