I purchased a 195 sport witht he facotry supplied tamdem axle trailer with surge brakes. I tow with an F250 with a 7.3L Powerstroke, obviously power and braking are not an issue. Though, the surge brakes drive me nuts. I have a 7pin and a 4 flat connector on the truck, my trailer has a 5-flat. I have an adpator for the 7pin to a 5-flat.
My question is, is this trailor suposed to pick up the reverse signal and lock out the surge brakes for backing? It drive me nuts to have to get out and put the lock ot key in all the time. If not, then why the 5-flat and not just use a 4-flat?
