Yes, I don't know what advantage you will get, like you said other than being correct. The whole torque curve might be an advantage if it will get you out of the hole faster. Your current WOT and Cruise RPMs sound about right - same as my boat with the 1.5 and a 15.25x15 prop.
Here you go. http://www.sterndrive.cc/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=MercruiserAlpha
I would not attempt the gears unless you have the tools and knowledge of things like adjusting backlash. Just a minute mistake will be disastrous.
Al, check out sea ray's website for what size prop would have come in yoru boat as if it was ordered w/ the 5.7l. My guess is you will need to drop down to a 17 pitch if you re-gear. Your higher pitch prop is counteracting the taller gears right now.
Can it be changed? Yes.
Should it be...
Has anybody ran a supplemental wire to their dash to run the accessory power circuits? I find at night when I am running multiple accessories (blower, running lights, stereo, dash lights, cockpit lights, cabin lights, spot light) that my gauges become extremely inaccurate. Further, the...
My guess is you're looking for the switch with the clear toggle to match? I found them direct at carling...

My Alpha 1 Gen 1 was leaking between the upper and lower halves. I ordred a new outdrive that had a three year warranty. Near the end of the warranty, I'll be...
I have a portable toilet that is connected to a macerator pump (wires are disconnected for obvious reasons) and a thru-deck pump out. This model head has an integral watertank and a door that you must open to let the "debris" fall into the holding tank.
Well, when I had the head pumped this...
I took my frames out this spring and resealed them with buytl tape. I ended up through bolting several of the bolts at each end to get a good seal. I also used the next size larger screw (#6 I believe) when reinstalling. Some of the screws are a bit longer and screw into the head wall...
We were there for about an hour. We saw the Elvis Impersonator (all the way from Las Vegas is what they said) and the first band played about three songs before the weather. Lots of boats split and took off as the weather started to turn, maybe about 3:45 or so.
Ok, well, I did it. I mounted a small 5,000btu window AC unit in the panel between the vberth and the anchor locker. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID. Dont even bother. The unit doesnt get nearly enough air and overheats within minutes. I droped it in the companion way and clipped a towel to it and...
While you're bleading, are you making sure the fluid level in the coupler doesnt fall too low? It works best if you have someone else standing at the coupler to keep filling the reservior as you are pumping it out.
I think you hit the nail on the head with the "have the room" statement. They are actually pretty large in person. But even if you have the room, I am not sure they're completely ideal unless you have one that draws the condensor air in from outside (two hose units). With most of the common...
Wayne, does someone have a secret? http://www.baylinerownersclub.org/forum/archive/index.php/t-13507.html :smt043
What the h*ll were you doing posting there!?!?!
I KNEW someone would call me out on coming across that! Lets just say I have a redneck side.
I am contemplating attempting a coaxial coil conversion and putting a window AC under my V Berth in my 250.
