I have a portable toilet that is connected to a macerator pump (wires are disconnected for obvious reasons) and a thru-deck pump out. This model head has an integral watertank and a door that you must open to let the "debris" fall into the holding tank.

Well, when I had the head pumped this weekend, they sucked the trap door out of its sliders. I had to stick my hand in the tank to feel around and get the trap door back into its grooves. How disgusting is that?!?!

From now on, I will be opening this door (to relieve suction) before anyone pumps it. I am never sticking my hand in there again!

As for my question, if you have a head like mine, how often do you pump it, regardless of how full it is? I don't like the idea of letting stuff rot in there but I don't want to spend $5+tip every weekend on a pump out.

No poop rule at least for porta-potties and make shift rigs!
