In the past I used Propylene ES Complete for mains and the genny. During the last service, my mechanic suggested that according to Cummins, Propylene is made for mains and Ethylene is for genny. If you don't have access to both, it's ok to to use Propylene ES Complete for mains and the genny.
Looks like very nice upgrade. I have the same head unit. It's pretty cool, I really like it.
Fusion speakers look sharp. I bet 8.8s sound great. Do you feel a need for a sub in the cockpit? With all the stuff you added, I'm surprised there's no sub.
Hey Dean,
I had quite an opposite experience. My STBD side was running cooler and when I had the thermostats replaced, the STBD side one was in pieces, indicating that it was "always open". Hens, running cooler then the PORT side.
This was my lesson learned when taking mechanic's...
My definition of "south safe enough" is where the palm trees naturally grow year round. That means no further north than SC. But of course it depends on what you're looking for as the overall experience. Years ago, we spent a winter in Charleston and loved it.
Hey Mark,
It really depends on the local coverage. In general, on the east coast it's pretty good signal. But there are trouble spots with poor signal. In my experience, TMO 5G hotspot produced best results for my location and I've cut the cord to satellite TV long time ago. Firestick or Roku...
I did Eleuthera trip few years ago. Absolutely a must do. It's a long run (about 200NM from FTL), but well worth it. I did it early spring and the weather didn't care about my schedule. So, we took some serious beating. July will most like be a totally different cruising.
I have no idea if...
Anchored 100+'ers dragging into me in a storm.
Boats crossing my bow while going under a bridge.
Boats crossing my bow super close (100' or less) in total darkness.
Slipping whales.
Submerged large non-marked objects.
Flares going off in the middle of the night 30-40NM offshore.
Meeting a...
I've used the ICW quite a bit. But never south of Atlantic City. Since I draw about an extra foot and the amount of bridges I'd have to deal with, it was never worth the trouble. Quick run out of Absecon Inlet for 30 miles to Cape May was no brainer, and you're back inside.
Step 1. Make sure to...
This thread might help.
It looks like I forgot to post the link:

Solve your seacocks issue and run the antifreeze the "normal way".
It sounds like the tech never dealt with a frozen seacock. When you have to deal with the one that is most difficult to get to, then you'll realize very quickly to avoid these type of recommendations.
These don't belong to "maintenance free" category. If you leave them alone for a while...
The water fill can be accessed behind the port sofa.
STBD fuel fill can be accessed via STBD stern quarter locker. For the PORT I think you'll need to take out the stern shower.
Dean,
To the right of the red arrow you can see where the wrench goes to loosen/remove the stem. Tough spot but should be doable.
Ours are Apollo valves with yellow handles. Groco come with white handles.
Exercising seacocks regularly will prevent freezing and stripping.
Hey Dean,
When I purchased wolverine heaters many years ago, my idea was to put them on the timer to prolong their live. After talking to WV tech support they told me it's not necessary as the heaters cycle every 30 seconds. I made a mistake by taking their advice, b/c the heaters lasted about...
