A couple years ago a man who had considerable amounts of alcohol in him ran full speed into the outer break wall after the July 4th fireworks, killing him and his family. You can’t just jump on a boat and operate it like an automobile.
I enjoy being on the water so much I consider it a privilege to own and operate a water craft and I would never operate mine in a manner that would cause damage to another’s. I also don’t want to be that “hey you, slowdown!!” guy.
I’ve noticed an increasing number of boaters, wave runners and even captains of larger crafts on the waterways this year on the Black River in Lorain, Ohio.
A lot of them show little to no etiquette in the harbors and rivers. They don’t follow the proper speed limits and travel up and down the...
I bought my 1999 210BR in 2015 from a close friend of mine for $5000. It was in excellent shape with only 82 hours on the 260hp engine. A year later I was offered double that from someone close to my slip at the marina. I asked him why he wanted it and he said “you just don’t find too many gems...
I’m remodeling my entire first and second floor from ceiling to flooring including new recessed lighting, new cabinets and granite countertops. Also new master bathroom. I’ll be ready for the boat come springtime!!
So happy you resolved the problem. There’s nothing more frustrating than getting out on the water with those types of issues. It destroys your peace of mind which is why you want to get out on the water in the first place.
Most marinas provide 30amp 120v power. Double check to see. I wouldn’t trust a regular style 120v extension cord to hook up to the boat. Most have inadequate shielding and would be dangerous around the open water.
I replaced my 99’ 210br (260 hp) two years ago. I have to tell You with the exceptions of different ignition and fuel setups, I love it! Gone are the finicky ignition anomalies and the engine runs great. I am truly glad I did it. The almost 20 year old computer was going and the expense was much...
They are bolted from the back. You have to unscrew the nuts to remove the panels from the sides. Be patient and make sure you remove them all.
Good luck.
Funny enough my upper unit gears were shot and it was heating the water going into the engine. I replaced the upper and everything was fine. Not sure if that will solve your problem but it solved mine.
I have a 1999 Clarion M5475 audio system. Last week I changed out my pair of boat batteries and then discovered that the radio won’t turn on.
Everything else in the boat works fine except the radio. I can’t find the owners manual and it is impossible for me to get the info in line. The contact...
I was told the prop was correct. It’s a 19R. Not sure about the carburetor fully open though. I’m not an “engine guy“ so I’m not sure about testing this under load. In neutral I can get it we’ll passed 4000rpms.
I have a 1999 210br signature with a new 350 small block W/ 4-b carbureted and my top cruising speed is around 43mph @ 3300 rpm’s.
The hull is pretty clean... she’s in fresh water and I keep it docked in Lake Erie.
Is that the most I should expect from this setup? I had it tuned up and the...
You should just be able to screw them in. There’s a color matching rubber plug. Remove the old plug and unscrew.
I am curious though... how did you order new ones? I have a 1999 210br and are looking to replace a few.
Thanks.
I used a color matching dark blue fabric dye felt tip pen to Re-dye the sea ray stitching on my newly bleached pearl vinyl seats and cushions. I took my time and applied it very lightly... even gingerly. The result was good as new. So after you color you vinyl, use the dye pen to revive the...
I’ve only used Boat US and have had to use them 4 times so far. Each time they were quick to respond and at no cost/paperwork, etc... I wouldn’t leave port without it!
I replace the EFI on my 210 BR With a carb system when I had to replace the motor. Best decision I made. No more troubles with electronics. No starting issues either.
$17,500 seems right for that model and year. Make sure your bellows and outdrive is good. The upper unit can have gear wear on a...
Happened to me. The inner mechanics are plastic and may have broken. If you can disassemble and clean and lubricate it great. If it’s broken it should be replaced.
Anyhow you can secure it from the bolt. Use a large washer and nut. You should never have to use it as an anchor point. Only to secure line to boat.
Enjoy your boat!
