    Removing the heat exchanger

So have a 2003 Mercruiser 8.1s Horizon engines. From what I gather, you just need to loose the two bolts that hold the thermostat housing and it should lift out. Doesn't seem to be budging and worried I might be missing something. Am I? Thanks all!

    Replacing Theromostat 8.1s Horizon

Hey all. So need to replace the thermostat on my starboard engine. Looks like I need to remove the heat exchanger to do that. Besides draining the exchanger and removing the silver clamp is there anything else that needs to happen?

    Seats need replacing

So got a 1988 390 Express Cruiser. The captains bench and passenger side benchs both need to be replaced as they are wood and falling apart. Have had little luck finding replacement units though since the benchs quite high. Anyone replace the benchs and found a good solution

    Air Conditioner

So silly question maybe. I have a Sea Ray 390 Express Cruiser. On my side there looks to be two discharges for the AC. One is flowing nicely the other a trickle. Should both be flowing?

Condensation or should I be worried

So have 1988 Sea Ray Express 390 with the stainless steel risers and dry join. Decided it would be a good time to crack open and see what's what before the season. When I was loosening the bolts, there was some water weep from the gaskets. Pulled off the riser and all inside there was a kind of...

    Getting to engines

fwebster thanks that's reassuring. Just curious though. Mine was repowered with Merc Horizon 8.1 so not the original engines so think they're a little bigger. Guess years of yoga are going to come in handy :) Think it would be easier since there's a bunch of other stuff that it would make life...

    Getting to engines

Thank hottodie. I can remove the hatches no problem, it's getting to the outside risers that's the issue and for that need to remove the seats. Unfortunately, mine are not the fiberglass seats but the older plywood ones.

    Getting to engines

Hi All, So I have a 1988 Sea Ray Express Cruiser 390. Want to do some engine work but since the access doors are under the seats, don't see anyway to do that without removing the helm and port seats. Is there an easy way to do that? Don't really see any way to get them off.

    Generator won't crank

Hi All, So this is a strange one. Wanted to just start the generator since it hadn't been started in a while. Hit the remote start and heard it cranking but not starting. Cranked for way longer then usually. Stopped the remote start. Tried again and now nothing not even a crank. It's a Kohler...
