Replacing Theromostat 8.1s Horizon

Hey all. So need to replace the thermostat on my starboard engine. Looks like I need to remove the heat exchanger to do that. Besides draining the exchanger and removing the silver clamp is there anything else that needs to happen?

yes on a closed system you need to drain the system below the thermostat housing.

Be very sure that all the old gasket material is cleaned off. It’s also a good time to flush the system and install a new pen zinc into the heat exchanger
