Removing the heat exchanger

So have a 2003 Mercruiser 8.1s Horizon engines. From what I gather, you just need to loose the two bolts that hold the thermostat housing and it should lift out. Doesn't seem to be budging and worried I might be missing something.
Am I? Thanks all!

I'm not even sure that you need to loosen the two bolts, as it's sealed with a rubber ring that the bottom of the intercooler should slip into (one at each end). Big strap clamp(s) removed? Can you wiggle the tank at all?

The two clamps are what holds the exchanger in place.

Wy are you removing it?
