Frank, your taste in music is impeccable. Musician's taste tend to parallel your's, as the music we've been talking about is probably some of the finest ever performed. It takes a real discerning ear to judge the difference between what the record companies have been throwing at the public and...
Well.... The Mini will be for sale very soon. It has a Bill Richards motor (he's well known in the UK for his A+ motors) putting out some significant umph. The tranny is built to handle it. The suspension has been modified such that it handles like it's on rails. It was converted to a Cooper S...
Nice 5!
I just sold my 1982 320i - I got it with only 70k on the clock and drove the snot out of it for about 2 years. What a fun car to drive, by far one of my favorites of all the cars I've owned (and that list is LONG and heavily populated by German cars)
I recently got a 1992 735i -...
I use mine while fueling and before starting the first time for the day. I'll use it again when starting if I've been sitting more than 15 minutes.
I will confess though - I rarely go the full recommended 4 minutes before starting.
I have seen boats melt due to not using the blower and...
I am a HUGE Susan Tedeschi fan! Shemekia Copeland is another, along with Deborah Coleman and of course Etta James. I've backed a few female blues singers for a lot of the last ten years.
For some great piano work, check out David Hazeltine. He's the closest thing to Gene H I've heard yet...
All good stuff, so far, and I'm amazed at how similar the collective taste in music is.
I have kind of a weird taste in music, but Here's 5 artists most people haven't heard but should:
Gene Harris - Jazz piano at its absolute finest (hard bop, if you know the difference)
Robben Ford...
As I understand it, Sea Ray changed the way they measured length for all Sea Rays in 1992 so a 1991 "270" = 1992 "290" - it had to do with whether or not you included the swim platform and the government changed the rules back then.
I just did this - I replaced the faucets in the galley and the head with Franke and Price Pfister faucets that look and work way better than the the 'spec home' versions that I had in there.
Browse the faucets at Home Depot or Lowes and see if you can find something you like. As stated...
Update: I just picked up a Zodiac Cadet C310S - the difference is night and day in terms of quality. It was considerably more $ but worth it, IMHO. The oar locks are as solid as they could be. This weekend I'll pop my newly acquired Eska 7.0 (Don't laugh - $50 doesn't get you a whole lot these...
I just put in 2 sets of Polk DB651's - very very happy. Circuit City has a 'buy one get second 50% off' deal - $150 for all 4. Now I just need to find a decent head unit.
Mine are goofy (1988) There's two batteries for the starboard engine that share duty as house batteries and one additional battery that is for the port engine only. The two banks are isolated and there is a crossover switch to use the port starting battery for the starboard engine if you should...
In my experience, if the bolt sheared and didn't fail while you were removing it (i..e., stuck due to corrosion) it should come out very easily. It is possible that there could be some corrosion in the threads but it's my bet that even an easy out will be overkill, just a convenience if it's...
Don't give up hope. Chances are actually pretty good that you can back that pup out if you can reach it. If not, a drill and an easy out will do it. Just be careful not to drop it.
That one is real. I'm an avid kayaker and I've been sent that photo a hundred times :) I checked - it's real. Appeared in "Africa Geographic" some years ago. It's one of my favorite photos :) :)
