What's your favorite cruisin music?

Flip Flop between Rock & County

Sirius 14,15,60,61 & the Jimmy B station (I think 31) Not sure it's programed into my favorites then I just push the button.

Wish they had Woo Woo Ginsburg

Yeah, Adventure Car Hop and the Night Train, wow that was a while ago :smt089

WMEX is in NH now, still doing oldies. I think Woo Woo owns it. He used to do commercials on it a few years ago.

XM Flight 26 ('90's and now) through the Direct TV receiver.

Also, Buffet whenever the admiral is not around. She's not a big fan...

Usually I am listening to my sisters screaming kids!!!!

We have a "Desert Island Mix Tape" its actually a CD, the the title of MIX CD never really caught on...

It has everything from Jimmy, bob marley, acdc even some meatloaf and some country.

The D.I.M.T. #2 just has a bunch of getting drunk sing along songs

Like "Battle of New Orleans" for example!!

O.K I'll admit it.... I like Jimmy Buffet too, despite my previous post.
Yeah...you scared me. I thought I started a topic I was going to get flamed! I am surprised at all the Buffet fans, though.

Anything I can hear!!! As of now the boat doesn't have a working radio. Until I have time to figure out if its a wire issue or just time for a new radio we are using a junky walmart special so that we have something while floating in out diapers

Graham

just hire a mariachi band to play live while your underway.. LMAO

Guess I will have to get a bigger boat so they will all fit!!!

All of you have worn me down. I have a wiring diagram in hand and I am determined to make my radio work. If it doesn't.....I will probably end up buying a new one tomorrow morning and installing before the camping trip to the lake.

And when it works the first CD through it will be Bob Seger's greatest hits!! Amazing CD. Then followed up by Texas country, CCR (the orig), Boston, Moody Blues, new rap (for the gf), etc etc

Wonder how many heads are being scratched :smt017 :smt017 right now.

All good stuff, so far, and I'm amazed at how similar the collective taste in music is.

I have kind of a weird taste in music, but Here's 5 artists most people haven't heard but should:

Gene Harris - Jazz piano at its absolute finest (hard bop, if you know the difference)

Robben Ford -A VERY good Blues/Jazz guitarist, best stuff is with "the Blue Line"

Danny Gatton - Rockabilly/Hillbilly Jazz (yes, I meant to write that) If you want to know what a Fender Telecaster sounds like, this is your guy. But you'll never play it like this. For a real thrill, check out the "Relentless" CD with Joey DeFrancesco. You'll say WOW, trust me.

Johnny A - Another guitarist with a lot of Gatton and Ford in him.

Allman Brothers - I know, I know, you've heard of them, but I'm talking about the latest version with Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Gregg Allman, and Oteil Burbridge. This is some of the best music I've heard, ever. It's that good. And Oteil is a MONSTER bassist. "Hittin' the Note" is the disc.

(and for those of you who have heard and like this stuff, yes, like you, I am also a musician :smt001 )

Bob Marley
Dave Matthews
Allman Bros
Buffet...of course

Sirius 17 Jam On!
Nice selection here too

We listen to a mixture of Bob Marley, Dave Matthews Band, Maroon 5, Norah Jones, and Alison Krauss albums.

We also use Sirius, and listen to Bluegrass, Reggae, Old School Rap, and Top Hits type music.

Latin Jazz and Rock

Tee up Gloria Estfan and the Miami Sound Machine for some classics and jack the volume to just over the roar of the engines!

The relaxing sounds of the Upper Mississippi spanking her bottom....

What happened there? I meant to say that I second River Rat's submission. Wind, waves and the Upper Miss!

At anchor, it depends on the mood. Buffett, Bob Marley, even some James Taylor at times. I also have a great blues CD from Luther Allison. And, play iEric Clapton loud in the bottom of lock 14!

What I HATE is anyone's music playing way too loud when anchored within 50 yards. The other day, someone had those tube speakers on their sports tower pointed in my direction. Yikes!!!

Graham,

Either your dating yourself, as I am, or you have absolutely great taste in music.

Seger is absolutely fine...
Just give me some of that "Old time Rock and Roll"

Texas country, well, you have me at a slight disadvantage, but I like ZZ Top...

CCR..
The original "Heard it Through The Grapevine"

Boston is classic...
"More Than a Feeling"

Moody Blues is in a class by itself...
"A Question of Balance."

An awesome album, although OLD, but still a classic, is "Santana Abraxis". circa, 1970, but some of the finest guitar of the last 50 years.

Not to mention a little Motown, ( 4 Tops, Supremes, Marvin Gaye, etc) followed by a little sound of Philadelphia" (Spinners, Stylistics, etc), and rounded off, when you want to get the feet moving, with a little disco, ( Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor, Saturday Night Fever, Barry White, etc.)

Can you tell that I don't like music?

ps.
The "Boston" debut album was the largest selling debut album in history.

The "Saturday Night Fever" album was the largest selling soundtrack in history.

OK, I could type for hours, but I'll stop here.....

Good listening....

Got to like the ipod. I've got a nice blend of Eagles, Red Hot Chilis, Cold Blood, Van Halen, Styx and REO. Ok, I must have show my age there, but what the heck.

I love the variety that I get from the Ipod and the XM radio!

My favorites:
80's rock.....Bruce Springsteen, Styx, AC/DC, etc.

Today's Country......Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney (My wife and kids are at his concert tonight).

Gene Harris sure knows his way 'round the 88s. Great pianist. Not heard Gatton, but DeFrancesco is another good man. Haven't hear much from the Allmans but the Derek Trucks Band soars, so maybe they're on to something. Like Truck's wife, too but mostly her classic blues and R&B styles vocals more.

I'd like to rummage though your cd collection. Sounds like it might be interesting.

Best regards,
Frank C.
