That lil black o-ring on the water fill cap can cause a small leak like you described. In a pinch, a little vasoline on it will fix it right up.

You probably got an air block. Take a phillips screw driver and crack loose the 4 screws holding the pump together. let some water leak out and re-torque the screws. Problem should be fixed.

Did you change out the or something that looks similar. About $100.

Make sure it floats.........
