Looking at getting back into boating as I now live in San Diego again... 2004 to 08 340 seems like a doable boat on the bay and for coastal cruising. Question: How durable are the (ZF) Transmissions on these V Drives.. what service do you need to do to them? I figure changing Trans Fluid once...

Anyone slipped at Lake Lewisville have a good Mercruiser Mechanic they can recommend. I've heard good things about Mike's Mobile Marine - Mike Terito... has anyone used his services?.
I need someone that can haul out and trailer my boat to their shop from Cottonwood Creek Marina and do...
I had the exact same problem after each power wash was done by our local boat washer (Yacht Docs ). Every time they power washed the portlights I would have a water soaked carpet in front of the head area below the door.
So, as a test, I had them not power wash the portlight areas at...
Hey fellow Texan on Lewisville... or soon to be. I have a 260 Sundancer WITH AC and generator (you have to have the generator to run the AC on the water). We considered the 240 but decided on the 260 for your exact reason. And are we glad we did. It gets way to hot in the summer here not to have...

I've been trying to find out the answer to this question from many sources to no avail. Does the following Mercruiser Control have a dent adjustment screw adjustment on it anywhere? The Mercruiser manual shows a screw but I don't see it when I remove the cover. They are used to adjust the...
I have at random vibration at times at the stern drive when planing also. Happens when I power trim the drive out or in sometimes. Changing the drive trim makes the vibration go away. :smt101
I was once told by a seasoned boat hauler that it is the U-Joints position change during power trim and...
Up to you but I would NOT tackle this one myself without a good manual and all the right tools and supplies (bearing puller, stern drive holding rack, lubricants, etc.) and someone who has done this before to help you. Just my 2 cents... Good luck!
Check out this thread first though...
You should have it pulled at least every other year IMO...
You've covered most of the above items correctly but are missing a few more items they will inspect and / or replace:
1. They will check and inspect all three bellows: Exhaust, Shift Cable and U-Joint for any where or tears that can...
How often do you recommend that you change the gimbal bearing out under normal use? Are the 2006 Bravo III gimbal bearings sealed bearings or not?
Thanks!
Hey Todd!
Ya. They are very slow in business and they are only doing Lake Texoma now because of it. It's an hour and a half away so it doesn't make sense for him to do one boat. :smt089
Yacht Docs did sell the business to someone on Lake Lewisville - we just don't know who ... yet.
Hi all!
We need a recommendation for a mobile waxing / detailing service for Cottonwood Creek Marina on Lake Lewisville. We used to use Yacht Docs but they don't do Lewisville anymore. :smt100
Thanks!
