I've haven't logged onto CSR since July of last year. I've been busy with my company, family and boating. My concrete cutting company is struggling right now. It's not a big company but at one time I did employ 22 people, I'm down to 7 including me. If things get any worse I'm going to have to...
I'm out of town and the gear oil for my outdrive is dangerously low. My clear see-thru resevoir is almost empty. There's an auto parts store within 5 miles. What oil do I buy? 75-90 Mobil 1 synthetic gear oil? I called the dealer and they said to only run "Mercruiser" or "Quicksilver" gear oils...
I haven't gotten any responses yet in the "Gas engines/ props" forum so I hope to get some questions answered in the "Sport boats" forum. I have a 175 sport with a 3.0 alpha 1. It has a 19p prop. and I can go 48mph. I rarely tow for water sports and I'd like to break the 50mph mark. I heard...
I have a 2008 175 with a 3.0 Alpha 1. It has a 19p alum. prop.. I hardly tow skiiers and would like more top end. I currently get about 48m.p.h. out of it and Id like to break 50. Should I get a 21p alum. prop.? Or an SS 19p or 21p prop. I've been told that aluminum flexes but my boat only...
Is the weather around here ever going to get nice this year? I've lived here my whole life and I can't remember such a stretch of drab, cloudy, cold ass weather. I'm going to have to drive to So Cal to boat in the sun.:smt089
I bought a 175 sport and ordered it with all the covers possible for this boat(bow, cockpit, bimini). What is the best way to wash them? I've used a high quality car wash and dish soap. It worked OK but didn't get the deep dirt and light stains. I'm afraid to put it in the wash machine...
Does it work for you? I have a new 3.0 alpha 1 rated at 135h.p. in a 2000lb boat. I currently had 15 hrs. on it ( just broke in). I put 1 bottle of 104 octane boost in 21 gals. of gas( a full tank). My top end went from 47 to 49 m.p.h.. I know it's not a hi-po motor, but it still made a...
Unfortunately last Saturday a hydroplane racer was killed on turn 1 of the race course. He was making a move to the inside lane and was broadsided by another racer. His boat sank and it wasn't good. Racing is fun to watch but you don't want people to die.
This weekend on Lake Mayfield (southwest WA) there's going to be hydroplane racing. All boaters are welcome to tie up and watch(for free). They are the small outboard style of hydroplane but they are still a kick to watch. Racing is 11-5 Fri.-Sun. Look for my boat on Sunday, I'll be there...
Hey fellas, here's some pics. of my woofers. My (stereo geek) friend recommended I try a Kicker as well that's why there's one in this shot next to th JL Audio.
I got to be honest, It hits as hard or harder and it costs 1/3 the price of the JL.It's also marine grade. I used the factory grills...
I have probably 100 pictures of my bout but I can't seem to get them to this website. I have a camera that takes about a 600kb pic. and the site only takes up to a 97. What do I do and how do I do it. I got some killer pics. of lake Washington and Mayfield and I want to share...
My name is Robb. I live in Seattle and I bought a 2008 175 sport. It has every option and then some. I love the way it handles and rides. It is much more boat than I expected. I used to have a Bayliner (19 footer) and this one KILLS it in every way.I don't have a picture under 600 or I'd send it.
[/IMG]I bought a new 175 sport and installed a 300watt 5 channel amp with 2-10 inch woofers and MB Quart separates. It took me 2 days to do it right and it sounds like a dance club on water. The boat has alot of room under the dashboard for stereo equiptment. Now my boat looks, rides,handles...
