    Help Selling my Boat

I'm putting my boat up for sale in two weeks. It's a 2001 Sea Ray 230 Signature BR with 7.4MPI, 160hrs, B3. Exceptionally clean and well maintained. Unfortunately I've come to realize that this is not the ideal boat for my boating area so it's not going to be an easy local sell. What...

Cluck when shifting B3 into forward or reverse

I hadn't noticed it before but when I shift my B3, connected to a 7.4 MPI engine, into forward or reverse I hear a "clunk" sound. Not very load and most noticeable when running on the ears. Is this normal or should the be a smooth transition between neutral and fwd or rev? Regards, Tom

    Shoot Through Transducer

I would like to install a shoot through transducer in my 2001 230 Select, Sea Ray advises against it stating "You cannot install that type of transducer because your boat actually has a liner in it, not a solid fiberglass hull.". Does this sound accurate? Seems a bit strange to me. Anyone...

Disconnecting Power Before Getting Trailer Wet

I’ve heard conflicting opinions about disconnecting the power to my trailer before putting it in the water for put in or pull out. I’ve always left the power connected and seeing as I have surge breaks I must since backing up causes the breaks to actuate without the override provided by the...
