I did manage to replace the water heater by removing the exhaust tube but I did have a good amount of water coming into the bilge. The bilge pumps were able to keep up until I could get it sealed with plastic and zip ties. I bet if I had empty fuel and water tanks it wouldn't have been an...

I'll be giving it a go this weekend if the new water heater gets here on time and report back. The new unit looks real nice and am looking forward to the increased hot water capacity due to the mixing valve feature. I would think those tubes would have to be above the waterline otherwise there...

The bolts are striped out so I'm looking at a new unit unfortunately. I must have cross-threaded the bolts last time I did it cause it's hard to line it all back up when your laying on your stomach on top of the exhaust tube. The bad part of the design is with that black bracket that is bolted...

My water heater died and I'm having a heck of a time figuring out how to get it out and a replacement in there. Anybody done this before and have any tips on the best way to replace it? I'm putting in an Isotemp SPA 40 to replace it and I want to orient it sideways to make replacing heating...

    44DB Cracked/Bowing Bilge Floor

Thanks for all your help. I appreciate everyone taking the time to put this information together for me. I will definitely post pictures of what I find and the repair process in case someone else runs into this issue. At least I can do the repair in the water. My wife would kill me if we...

    44DB Cracked/Bowing Bilge Floor

I found a topside view of your diagram in the manual which seems to illustrate a latch like your's. Was this section originally designed with a removable panel (P096)?

    44DB Cracked/Bowing Bilge Floor

If there's no foam then there would have to be a heck of a lot of water in there to cause freeze damage. I guess I'll have to cut it open and replace that plywood. I'm surprise there are no drains forward and aft of this void into the bilge pump area's to keep it dry. Thanks! Brent

    44DB Cracked/Bowing Bilge Floor

Went to get the boat ready for the water this weekend and found a pretty big crack in the bilge and 2-3mm of bowing along the edge of the floor in the bilge between the engines. Anybody have any idea what could cause this and what's underneath the panel in that section of the bilge. It...

So I backed up too far into shore... /facepalm - question for you

Nice, I'm at Kings Cove and will be going out this weekend. The water looks low and I hope I can make it out of the channel from the marina without bottoming out.

Any one have issues filling their port fuel tank. I cannot for the life of me get the thing to fill without stuffing a rag around the fill neck and forcing the fuel into the tank and making a mess I the process.

KVH finally has DirecTV HD support

Not to resurrect a old thread but I'm looking at getting satellite TV for the boat and am really torn. The KVH HD7 is out of the ream of possibility due to the price (currently about 11k) but the Intellian S6HD at about 7k might be, and it seems to have all the same features as the HD7...

    Official Cummins QSC-500 Thread

I noticed this also along with a slight load difference between the two engines and I was told by the service tech at MarineMax that is was due to the port transmission having a reverse gear in it to change the direction of rotation for the output shaft.

If this is the case and I wanted to install an inverter couldn't I just replace the bow thruster battery charger with a inverter/charger combo. All the references I see have you installing a separate inverter in the bilge.

Interesting, I haven't thought of that. I read about the balancing issues with this model but I hadn't noticed much of a list on mine. I'll have to check it next time I'm at the dock.

Just getting used to the 44 Sedan Bridge and have some questions for you veterans. I noticed a big blue Xantrex battery charger under the stars and what’s labeled as a bow thruster controller next to it. Is this battery charger just for the bow thruster bank as there is a separate switch on...

Something still isn’t quite making sense for me and maybe the wiring is a little different between the model years. I have to engage the starboard battery solenoid to activate my 12v systems. When I have both solenoids and hit the voltage test switch I get two different voltages and I...

Is every battery wired as the house? I thought only 1 side was wired to the house and the generator was wired to the other bank so if you ran down the house batteries you could still start the generator or use the emergency start to start the other engine. Also I don't think the bow thruster...

    For SALE - NAVIONICS CHARTS

You old boat wasn't named Two Dogs or Lucky Dogs by any chance? I just purchased a 2006 44DB that came from your area and was looking through all the threads and noticed some similarities between your old boat and my new one. BTW my boat is being pulled this week to get two frozen seacocks...
