Tropical Storm Ian Prediction as of 0200 EDT.

Blueone…..“The complex told us not to close the steel drapes they said they are only for severe weather”

Are these different from the roll type hurricane shutters?
I am curious why you wouldn’t want to use them even if it wasn’t “severe” weather?
We use our shutters regularly, if not for just excercising them in thunderstorms.
I am not sure…. It’s just the guy at the front desk being told what to say. They seem to be pretty proud of their hurricane doors and windows. Here is a pic of the curtains

As of now it looks like Tampa will be spared the direct hit and with the prediction of a more southerly landfall Tampa could be in the upper left quadrant of the storm rather than in the dreaded right upper or lower quadrant. Pushing the water out of Tampa Bay sure is a lot better than pushing all that water into the bay and the city. Either way FL is in for a major storm.

@Blueone, are your reservations at Garden of Eden?

I have heard the roof top bar is really an experience, taking in the view of the night time sky.

No we have been there though…. We were talking to a really cute bartender last night who said she goes up there and pulls one boob out and has a drink …. We tried so hard to get her to come up there with us last night ….. she said sure but she got off at 2:00 Mike and I couldn’t stay up that late….. sucks to be old

Blueone we were down in Key West several years ago and took a sunset cruise on a ~130' sailing ship. In its earlier years it was used to lay cable. At the time of the cruise it was docked in the harbor near where that bar is.

Is it still there?

Not good. Tampa was scheduled to close at 1700 (5 PM)

Sure not looking good for Ft Meyers area. Raining like hell over on the east side. 16 inches in my rain gauge since yesterday.
