I was in Shoprite the other day, picking up some basics for turkey day when an announcement came over the wire, "Due to a state mandate, our stores will stop providing plastic or any bags at checkout, please bring your own reusable cloth carry bags".

I looked in my cart and thought, hope its not today, all this crap will be rolling around in my truck because of these hardons, but realized it wasnt that day.

So I proceeded to get what I needed. I grabbed a bunch of plastic soda bottles and plastic mixer bottles, then cruised to the meat section, past dozens of frozen turkeys wrapped in plastic, past the meats wrapped in plastic and in plastic trays, went over to the deli section and got some cold cuts in zip lock plastic bags, then to the dairy section and got a plastic jug of milk, cant forget plastic coffee kcups, then to the veggies, where there were rolls of plastic bags to fill with green stuff, on my list was shampoo for the admiral, so I browsed the health care section of plastic bottles to find whatever that shit was, I had to steer around a table with hand sanitizer with a plastic bottle of alcohol gel....and on and on.

When I got to the register, as I was inserting my plastic debit card in the plastic CC machine, I thought, wow, wont it be special when those wafer thin handle bags are gone, life will be so much better........

We already have the plastic bag ban here in NY. What really gets me is when you go to Dunkin or Starbucks to get an Iced Cappuccino and it comes in a huge plastic cup & lid but with a lousy paper straw that turns to mush in minutes. We only recycle #1 & #2 plastics in my town so of course the cups are usually #5......makes no sense to me.

In Ct. we had a $0.10 plastic bag tax until the did away with the bags. Now at Wallmart you get a reusable plastic bag for free

We still have them in Michigan and yep, we get a slew of them every time we shop at Meijer. I don't like them but I know we can't replace trees fast enough to meet an all paper bag scenario. I should swap to reusable bags but haven't yet.
I do know there's rarely a day on the boat that I'm not plucking plastic bags out of the water.

Minneapolis has a ban. One thing I noticed is some people with dogs use the bags to pick up their doo. Now they’ll be buying plastic bags to do the exact same thing.
It is my understanding San Francisco banned plastic bags a couple of years ago. The homeless used those bags for their doo. Now they just leave it in the street or on your porch.

If it’s not the straws, it’s the bags……

But look we have paper straws.....and they are still saying the number one threat is global warming.... I thought the straws were the answer....duped again :)

The whole thing is crazy. It makes normally rational people do irrational things. Those little cheapo bags make great little garbage bags for the small waste baskets on the boat and camper and I hang them from the racor handles in the ER for my used shop towels.
When we travel to different places, we hoard those plastic shopping bags to bring home, just like plastic straws and high cap mags. The crazy world is making me nuts.
Ok, maybe age has something to do with it.

It's crazy that the bags are SO thin that you can't put more than a couple items in any one of them, so you need 4x as many bags just to get the groceries. On top of that, for anything even SLIGHTLY heavy you have to double-bag them so they don't rip open.

Why aren't they going back to the paper bags? You can recycle them easier than the plastic ones. Our recycler doesn't take the thin plastic bags because they jam up the machinery, so everyone is told to throw them away.

Lunatic liberals. Last year plastic bags made a comeback in Virginia since the Lunatics believed the China Virus could be on anything you touched. Fast forward 18 months and the Lunatics believe in mask mandates and want to ban plastic. Why does anyone listen to mentally ill people?

We just came back from AZ where there is no bag ban to WA where there is a ban. If you don't bring your own bag to the store they charge you $.08 per reusable bad. As was mentioned above, I use the lightweight plastic ones for poop bags.

Before I left AZ I went to the store's plastic recycling barrel and took all they had to bring back here. They were glad to get rid of them.

I have to go back down to AZ in January for a week. Guess who'll be doing the bag steal again!

Let's Go Brandon.

I had this kid in Hemit that I had to deal with. A real douche bag that is better than everybody and God. I got tired of his crap and the harrasment all the time. So I sent him two cases of plastic straws with a return address of "The Tactical Plastic Straw Company". He was publicly trashing some folks on social media one day. I asked him about a company I had heard of. I asked if they were a good company to bo business with. He hasn't been to much of a jackwagon for the last year.

Tiara has a trash receptacle beneath the steps into the salon that is designed for those Meijer plastic bags. You flip the step up and place the bag handles over two “grabbers” that hold the bag open so it can be used for trash. We liked getting those bags and kept a supply of them under the steps.

Yup, been banned here in Oregon for a couple years now. But you can still get heavier plastic bags and paper for $.25 a bag. It's all a farce.

We reuse them as trash can liners in the bathrooms at home and both trash cans on the boat...ran out on the boat earlier this year and guess what we had to buy - plastic can liners.

You can't make this stuff up....or can you...just think like a liberal...
