Thanks for the reply. Does anyone know for sure about the 3116's? My friend got the deal done on the 40' Sundancer but it's 150 miles away. We're trying to just what we need to get her home. Thanks
Frank I'm surprised at your response. I've always been told 2800 to 2850 was mandatory. Other wise it's overloaded through the whole rpm range. This is preached on Boatdiesel all the time.
Hey all the engine sync didn't seem to work. Capt engaged sync slave was free but didn't follow master. Any tricks or is there an issue? I think it's a Sturdy synchronizer. Thanks Randy
hi all I've been asking questions about these boats. Well my friend had an offer accepted and we did the sea trial . 300 HP 3116's. Cat guys were on board. Boat only hit 2700 RPM'S. Cat guy says that's ok because it's not off by too much. Well from what I know that's wrong! What do you guys...
Thanks for all the responses guys!!! I'm not receiving emails even though I'm subscribed to this thread. Engine survey and sea trial is next Wednesday!!!
Ok thanks for the replies. We met the previous owner and he said the boats cruises at 22 knots at 2200 RPMS. That sounds great but he said it burns 35 gallons an hour!!! That's no where near the 18 to 22 gph you guys are talking about. What's the deal?? Thanks again
