I had some time today to mess with the boat. Found the timing is all over the place. Boat was hard starting today. Once i got it started and warmed up i checked timing at an idle. It was at 8 deg then 32 deg. It will not stay at one spot. Plus the tach was bouncing around between 500 rpm's and...

I have a 1986 286 searay 350 mercruiser with alpha outdrive. Engine was replaced a few years ago with a 1997 350 vortec engine. 2 weeks ago i had a pretty bad overheat. Melted the exhaust couplers. Replaced the water pump, exhaust couplers, shift cable. Risers and manifolds looked ok. Started...
I have 86 268 weekender and it's getting time to replace the carpet in the cabin. What have u guys used? did u also install underlayment as well? Right now the current carpet is glued to the fiberglass. The wife would like to have some cushiion under her feet.

Well the factory fridge finally died last year. So i'll be looking for a new one that works on 110 volts and 12 volts. Has anyone replaced theres? Looking for one that will just drop right in
I have a 1986 268 weekender. Which is a very heavy boat. I replaced the 5.7 with a 5.7 vortec engine. I can run all day at 30 mph at 3600 rpm's. I can keep the boat cleanly on plane at 2800 rpms. Just got back from the cheasepeake bay area. My boat survived what felt like a tornado the first day...
The only thing that sucks about our weekender is I can't operate the boat during storms or heavy rain do to the open cockpit. We really like the boat and I have way too much in it to sell it. I'm seriously looking into making a light weight hardtop for it

It just hit at the right time with it being low tide it amplified the waves. We were anchored in 8 feet of water. I originally had 60 feet of anchor line out when I saw what was coming on the radar I quickly left out another 70 feet of line. Even with 130 feet of line almost capsized a few...
